when gilles drove to his future /wife girlfriends house in his mustang he would time the trip. many speeding tick's. the trip also included a 180 degree spin on the way or it did not count as a fast time. all said. sad,sad day. burt.

And it was 28 years to the day of a Saturday qualifying session as well. Dont expect the anniversaries to occur on quali days that often. And no mention of it on the BBC either!

Is the story about him being 11 seconds faster than everyone else in one wet practice true :eek: . Cant remember the track, Watkins Glen?

US GP 1979 - Friday practice was soaking wet and Villeneuve ended the session by around 9 seconds. Amazing
