Hi guys and girls,

New to the site, but a long time watcher of F1 (and lurker here).

With all the talk of GPs moving (UK to Donnington, F1 back to Canada shortly, perspective Indian and Russian GPs, Fuji going under, new Abu Dhabi and Korean tracks ect, ect), I was wondering where your preference(s) would be for either new or returning GPs.

Personally, I'd love to see more North & South American GPs (bring back Watkins Glen!), perhaps with a return of Argentina or Mexico to go alongside Brazil, as well as US and Canadian GPs. A 3-4 GP Americas leg would be great. Another would be the return of South Africa and Kyalami. Moto Gp's headed back there this year, I believe.

I'm a huge fan of circuits with large elevation changes (Spa, Nuerburg, San Marino, Monaco), but I've found that the recent fashion for flat street circuits (Melbourne excepted) has not really done much for F1 as a motor sport, as opposed to F1 as a spectacle. I await Abu Dhabi with interest, as it looks like it has major potential with two big braking areas and a couple of interesting complexes.

What say you?

I love true road courses, not this Valencia junk. That said, I would love to see a race at Surfers Paradise, Macau and possibly even Long Beach, so long as they used to original layout. But I would watch a season full of Valencia like circuits if it meant just one race at the Isle of Man, but I think we all know that would never happen.

How about an East London street track, maybe around the site of the 2012 Olympics? Hey, I can dream of a UK track I don't need a tent to attend... :wink:

Laguna Seca. :thumbup::horse:

Way too short for F1 in my opinion, the only way I would be interested in watching them race there is if they added more to the track, like doubled its length. That won't happen though because its not privately owned, its run by the state or county or some such nonsense.

Macau, no chance. F1 cars would struggle to get around there. The infield is insanely tight.

Laguna Seca, there would be issues with crap like Calforina being strict on emissions, lack of overtaking and general lack of room. Laguna Seca sounds like a good idea, but in reality, it would be lame

Portimao. Now that would be a good circuit to go to. Every race thats been there this year, has been brilliant and exciting. Something about the track just works. F1 should have a race there undoubtedly. The track is quickly becoming a favourite to all who go there.

I agree. The layout of the circuit is excellent. There are lots of changes in elevation and camber, a good range of corners, and it's reasonably wide. Estoril is decent, too, but I think Portimao now tops it, and its facilities are a little more modern. If there were to be a Portuguese Grand Prix, Portimao looks the better bet.
