the BMW engine was the best but i cannot remember who used it...1.4 litres for 1000 HP, but in qualifing they reached the 1200 HP!!!!

Benetton, at least for a spell. IDK maybe the whole time?

Useless trivia:
in '86, Gerhard Berger got his first win in that Turbo Benetton, and it was Benetton's firs win too!
Wait I'm not done!
In 97, Gerhard Berger also got his LAST win in a Benetton, and you guessed it, it was also Benetton's last win!

Flab ignored his winning driver and went over to vigorously congratulate MS on his second place!

The BMW turbos were used first by Brabham in 1982, but also supplied ATS, Arrows and Benetton. I think part of BMW's secret was to use a fuel mixture first used for WW2 fighter planes, but Honda had even more power: the 1986/87 Williams Hondas had something like 1600 bhp in qualifying trim.

Witches brews were awesome! supposedly the one Williams Renault(post turbo) used was the hottest. I don't recall their petroleum partner then.

Only thing I know about those hp level's is that the fuels' were well over 110+oct and the boost level's were in access of 70psi  !! Heck I was satisfied with running 15psi on my T66 MR2T for 350+rwhp and 15psi on my SC300 2JZGTE for 450+rwhp but I was not running an ems at the time either.

Did anyone else watch the '86 Austria GP when the two Benetton's totally walked away from everyone only to have their engine's let them down once again? Now that is one AWESOME TRACK the Österreichring I wish they would bring it back as it was the true meaning/layout of what a GP track should be.

Here are a few video's of the race but the 2nd one is the best!! It even show's the Lola/Hart of Patrick Tambay.

Brabham's lowline car from 1986 and 1987 - what I like to refer to as the jar of Marmite of F1 - could have worked better if BMW agreed to supply a certain configuration of engine to Brabham, but instead they gave it to Arrows.
