You know that 80 million we owe you, well we think we're going to have a hard time paying you back. But if you don't lend us some more cash, we KNOW we won't be able to pay you anything back.

The worrying thing seems to be that Genii themselves have given up 2% equity to this Ruhan guy who apparently lent them some money. Therefore if Genii put more funds in they will be diluting themselves or selling equity. Once on that carusel its hard to stop as then the money is never coming back, so they will end up selling off Genii itself and then eventually lose control. Similar to Ron at Mclaren.
And to think Genii thought they were gonna turn up, splash the cash, turn the F1 team around and sell it for a profit after a few years. Their speculative trade has become a long term investment. Ouch

Speculation, be it F1 or Real Estate, is a good way to make money and an even better way to lose more. :drink:

generally speaking, the best way to end up with a small fortune from speculating is to start off with a big fortune,

(or to supply the shovels to the gold diggers ofcourse :hehe: )

If you where Grojean right now would you be popping over to have a chat with the lads at Caterham right now?

They don't have an ENGINE deal finalized and the first test is in just a little over a week. Missing the first test or not, I wouldn't want to be be Boullier right now talk about pressure.

If it all goes South, this is the guy who I am going to feel most for. It'd be so unlucky that just when the guy gets his s*** together, and becomes a great driver, the company goes belly up!

It has been reported that Lotus have offered Whitmarsh the TP job.

When asked about compensation package, Lopez said ' he is definitely bringing some funds and a sponsor'

Well that settles that.
GPUpdate Last week, the Enstone-based outfit published two digital rendered images of its latest Formula 1 challenger, revealing a striking twin-prong solution to the sport's controversial new nose height regulations.

This led to questions over the legality of the car, but Whiting says it is fully compliant with the rules.

"The Lotus complies with the rules," Whiting told France's Auto Hebdo. "The car passed the crash tests and the concept adheres to the letter of the law. Their approach is, without doubt, different, but it is legal.

"They submitted their design in the summer and we found nothing to complain about. It is a clever interpretation."

Lotus has chosen to skip this week's Jerez test, with its new car set to run at the subsequent Bahrain outings.

But didn't Whiting also say it'd be ok for Mercedes to do a secret test in season....?
