Theres been a few occasions where hes shown what hes capable of when not hampered with unreliability.
Few being the operative word.

Maldonado has such a deficit that he's now carrier over penalties from two Races, he'll start ten spots back in Austin. So that's like 28th on the grid?

Finally, for the third time in his four-year F1 career, Pastor Maldonado ended the season with the most penalties of any driver (including those given for component changes.)

How things changed - who remembers this after his first, and only, win.....
