As the title suggest, I been thinking about doing some F1 art, I am pretty good with computer drawing. Been thinking about doing some Senna era mclarens, williams fw14, lotus 49 etc.. been thinking about selling prints on ebay or something, have them printed as posters. What do you guys think? Someone suggested just saying "inspired by blah blah" rather than saying it is. But not really looking forward to doing F1 inspired cars without the logos etc

If you create it yourself, then you own the image. I don't think there is anything wrong with what you're looking to do.

What he says^ If you made it yourself, that is made, not reproduced, or republicated or whatever, then you own all rights to it.

I think thats even if you plaster a big fat Marlboro or Shell logo or whatever, as long as you made it entirely yourself.

you guys got good points. I suppose thats how all those helmet replicas do it. Even if I use names I should be alright?

Was just thinking about when this ford mustang club/forum was going to make a calendar and ford sued them for a freaking calendar for their club!

Ford did that? What images were they using though? Still that's a bit sad.
Art pieces will be fine to sell, I take it you're not making mass prints for profit like the Englishman and the Scotsman said!

Owning the rights to the cars image? Now I've heard it all why not prevent aftermarket modifications while theyre at it!
