As it's the Monaco GP weekend, I thought I would start a photo thread to celebrate the event. It is probably the most photogenic (why am I saying 'probably'?!) Formula 1 race of them all.

Here are a couple from one of my first visits....1989....

Gerhard Berger was in Monaco but not racing due to his fiery accident at Imola 2 weeks earlier. Ferrari did not replace him and only ran one car.

OK, let's step back a year to 1988 - man, it was wet on the Thursday practice.......

Of course, this was way before big screens were everywhere - you can see the dot matrix display showing that car 19 had set the fastest lap in the session so far - it was the only source of information and was visible to most of the grandstands in the harbour.
