Superb read here on Sky on the whole Hamilton / Rosberg situation. Agree with this completely. And with Hamilton's stance.

F1 teams would rather back the slower driver than Lewis, for some reason.
Looks like it's the same again with Merc.
Back Rosberg, even though he should be the number 2 driver....lol.

Total failures, the lot of them. Look how well McLaren have done backing Button over Lewis...lol.

Pathetic.

I think Nico is showing signs of the stress that comes with leading a WDC. Today, not the kind of drive that wins championships... Hamilton's mistakes and misfortunes on Saturday have cost him, but Rosberg's mistakes and lack of racecraft on Sunday are seemingly costing him dearly as well.

Fantastic season so far. It's uncanny though, how "they" always run off tail between their legs. :hehe:

“I could see that every lap he was going over the kerb and I was just like ‘oopps, be careful, be careful’," said Hamilton. "And then he did it again and went off and that was instrumental in the result – it had been very difficult to follow him and get past, but it was with all the top drivers.”

This was funny though when i heard it.

Yep McLaren's demise is a stark reminder of what Lewis brought to the team. I've said before that developing a car is much easier when you have a driver with supreme one lap pace who can bring out the true pace in the car. Mercs have to be careful what they wish for because their advantage could easily be neutralised after the break, especially by Redbull. Personally I think it would work quite well for Lewis if the rest of grid caught up performance wise. Racecraft would take prominence and we saw today Rosberg's questionable ability to fight through the pack when he hasn't a clear performance advantage with a claustrophobic circuit to boot. Lewis will be the happier driver going into the break despite Rosberg's lead. I mentioned on the other thread that I think Lewis needs a more assertive and proactive race engineer because that's what Rosberg has. Lewis's seems more interested in ticking boxes than thinking ahead and this comes across in the radio exchanges.

To be fair, if he didn't ask for them in the first place but the team said, "hey, we're gonna have hamilton let you through" then I'd be asking a lap later, "um...when?" so his statement isn't really false

Since when are you fair? Oh apparently only when your drivers get the butt hurting?

If he asked then he was expecting it, if he was expecting it, he knew, if he knew he either asked which is pathetic or recognized the fact that he didn't have the race raft to get past Lewis in the first place which is more pathetic still. Nico couldn't get around JEV! He's going to get around Hamilton?

I keep telling you, thank god you're a Rosberg fan, you have a knack for picking the worst kinds of drivers to support and the ones you pick always seem to find a new and creative ways to lose.

The order was probably payback for Hamilton's poor choice of comments yesterday. Merc would not have been amused.

I doubt that's the case, that would be a pretty pathetic way to go about running an F1 race team. I think Lauda's explanation is more plausible, they shouldn't have called it, they panicked, it will need talking about.

After NR ran wide by LH not giving up the position, it seemed like he didn't want to risk passing knowing LH would fight to the end. If so, a wise move alas those team orders were BS IMHO. Stay strong Lewis.

Yup hehe, I totally loved today's race.

Shame for Nico, but at the end of the day three of the best drivers filled the podium spots
