I've decided that this season, I'd support not just a team. But anyone but Scuderia Ferrari.

I found myself rooting for Sebastien Vettel towards the end of the season, but come on? Who didn't?

Anyway, I found more excitement in going for a weaker team (Scuderia Torro Rosso). Because it's more interesting than supporting a team that wasn't always first, and required more skill from the driver to get a good result.

I'll still be rooting for Hamilton, but I'm not so keen on him because he's already won the championship. I mean, look at team Red Bull: I'd be rooting for them this year with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Those names are much more interesting to me.

I'd also be keen on watching this new Mercedez team. I'd be watching Bruno Senna very closely. I'm also keen on Adrian Sutil. While I don't care too much about the team. I'd like to see how Sutil would fare with a Mercedez engine.

So it's Team Red Bull 09! Don't worry, I'll change my signature!

So, just clarifying: Before I get kicked out of the McLaren clan: :hehe:

I still care about McLaren, but I'll keep a more open mind. I reckon Lewis Hamilton rocks! But it's just not as exciting as rooting for an underdog.

So the clauses of my fan-ship are:

1. I hope McLaren win the Constructors Championship.
2. Lewis Hamilton will win the Drivers Championship.
3. Sebastien Vettel will win a couple of races, and a few more podiums. However, if he won the drivers championship (Big IF) then I'd be ecstatic!
4. Mark Webber will get on the podium a few times.
5. Bruno Senna will get on the podium a few times. (Not expecting a win)
6. Adrian Sutil, will get ONE podium. lol.

That is what I'm rooting for this season! So because I still hate Ferrari, will the McLarenites still be my friends? :wavey::lurker:

So another week in the world of Formula One and something’s never change.
Honda are yet to find the elusive buyer that we have all been promised for sometime now and I for one is starting to get a little tired of this. Each time a deadline passes I can’t help feel strung along. Is there anyone out there genuine enough to actually afford to buy and run the team? Whereas the Brackley based outfit has always reassured us fans that they have a wide range of interested parties willing to step in and take over, its parents over in the East don’t seem to think so. Who do you believe?
Well for me its really a heart versus head moment. The heart of course being that of the actual race team. Those boys and girls will give everything to be on the grid in Melbourne this year even if that sacrifices must be made- to simple give up is not an option. However I fear for these people. It’s more than just their integrity that is at stake here, it’s their very livelihood. What they bring home to the dinner table each night for themselves and their families.
As you might have guessed, the head is located over at Honda HQ. Speaking this week the outgoing Honda CEO, Takeo Fukui, suggested that the Japanese car manufacturer had lost faith in trying to rescue the ailing race team as there just wasn’t anybody suitable enough to be trusted.
Honda’s statement during the mid week raises a number of good points. If they seriously don’t believe that they have any serious bidders then where does this leave the proposed Richard Branson takeover? Or was that simply a rumour stirred up by Bernie and company? Oh, surprise, surprise Bernie had to give his two cents on the matter by claiming that he offered to help the management with a buyout deal. Sadly there will be no Brabham Mark Two. Mind you, that is probably a blessing in disguise in terms of what team ownership would have meant for Bernie and his access to FOTA. However that is another argument that is best left for the future.
Although it is still be possible that a Virgin badged BAR-Tyrrell could turn up in the paddock this season, I can’t help wondering if this story was nothing more than a mere publicity stunt. Branson is not shy of resorting to such measures. Take the example of the Northern Rock bank? Were Virgin ever really serious about buying the troubled financial institution? Or was it merely a ploy to present Branson as a caring individual who really cares about regular Joe Blogg like you and I? The fact that he can’t get his trains to run on time, nor provide cheap air travel for the masses doesn’t exactly point to Virgin giving a damn about your savings.
This isn’t to say we may have a Virgin team in the future, but why would Branson invest so much into running a costly 09 project when the cheaper 2010 alternative is right around the corner?
Another team buying into the idea of “Bargain Bucket” Formula One was that of the proposed USF1 team who held a very interest press conference today. Typically the broadcast was fairly cheesy with Speed allowing Michael Andretti to plug his young Grandson Marco for a possible drive as well as championing the achievements of Marco’s father in Formula One. (That podium at Monza, yes what an achievement…) In saying this, the press conference proved to be quite interesting. In between all of the pro-North Carolina jargon USF1 could actually prove to be quite successful. Windsor was very media savvy, and predicted great things from his teams. Although I’m not totally convinced about the idea of starting the season with two American Drivers (be it male or female) I say we give them a chance.
The bigger issue is whether the United States will actually take to Formula One. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable Grand Prix fans in the USA, many of whom know a great deal about the sport. But apart from those aforementioned, will Formula One really be favoured in America in comparison to the “all conquering Nascar”?
Indeed, something’s never change.

It took me so long to explain myself when all I had to say was:

I hate America in a non-racist, non-extremist way.

Then why don't you find somewhere else to express you hate Mr Hater? Perhaps you are jealous? Ferrari have had so much success, so have the Italian national side, Uruguay has managed to win 2 world cups in its history as well, the German language is a very powerful "Forceful dominant" language and you can't find a nice woman because you're a short little shrimp and no one wants to go out with you.

But seriously it is all ok. McLaren have had plenty of success too and even though England are crap at football and need an Italian coach, at least their clubs full of foreign players and owners are doing extremely well. And English is spoken in more places than German, these days Uruguay are not that good at football as Brazil and Argentina are better so be happy and don't be jealous as the things you like are great as well. :)

Oh and I realised just now your from Sydney and not England. Oops. Plenty of Italian and Portuguese football fans in Sydney, and Ferrari fans for that matter, oh and Fat Pizza and his lebo friends. What did they (The lebs) run you over in a Ferrari, whilst Italy was in the process of winning the world cup in 2006, and Portugal coming second in the Euros of 2004 for you to hate them all so much? :hehe:

Sprechen sie Deutsch? Perhaps you could move back there sometime. These days it isn't hard as Germany and Britain are both in the EU so you can work and live there etc. :)
