i dont think its rained at the night race yet has it ? if not it will be interesting to see the visibility as the glare from the lights is bad enough let alone when there's rain in the way.

interesting about the car updates, lets hope the aero packages bring the fight to redbull for a interesting close to the season.

Ferrari did spend time developing monza spec upgrades so whether they got in the way of others for the fly away's is yet to be seen.

i still dont think you can call mclaren favorites, especial in this season where redbull have dominated every slow track and fast out there ( bar a couple)

I made McLaren favourites, but I said only just! I also said I think RB's would be on the front row. The reason I gave the nod to McLaren over the Bulls is because of the starts. McLaren seem to be able to make up at least one row on a start - their package has been good off the line. Conversely RB's have a real problem, which they haven't shown any signs of solving with their cars, particularly Mark, getting bogged down at the start.

I also gave my thoughts that this circuit is more what I call angular than sweeping on its corners - akin to Turkey a little. It has quite a few 2nd and 3rd gear corners (maybe half?) as opposed to lots of 4th, 5th+ gear corners - that will tend to diminish the advantage of the aero downforce the RB's have. But will advantage the Ferrari's good mechanical downforce - a little.

Lastly, if the start goes as it has recently - McLarens good, RB not so good, and McLarens are in front on lap one, then, even if the RB's are faster, this is not an easy track to pass on, and they don't have the grunt of either the Ferrari's or McLarens. Pit stops could prove critical again.

The cat amongst the pigeons are these extra upgrades for the Ferrari's - they are quite interesting - if they can get them to work.

I'm just hoping everyone finishes and there's plenty of red on the podium.

Forza Ferrari

Don't all teams bring a unique aero package to Monza? Or are you saying that Ferrari spent more time on it than others, who seemingly decided not to focus on Monza but instead on the remaining races, in which case I could swing that back around to the whole team orders and lack of spectacle and a driver losing out argument.

Big teams yes, small teams no.

I believe HRT ran the same rear wing they used at Monaco. Probably the only rear wing they had. (Thank goodness we cut budgets and expenditures, banned testing etc so we could let the likes of HRT into F1)

The tradition is to bring a low downforce package to Monza. This is usually typified by wings with little "attitude".
Ferrari and RBR however had a twist to this, they brought a "Monza specific" F-Duct which was a smaller version of the F-Duct. You could position it in effect between Lewis (who went the traditional Monza way, little wing attitude and no F-Duct) and Jenson with the full/regular F-Duct.

There have been a few comments on the Singapore weather. It's normal for rain at this time year in Singapore. However, it is usually only during the day. Nights are mostly clear. At the same website, if you do into each day you can get a day/night breakdown. Here is what it is showing for Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Ferrari are actually bringing more significant mods to Singapore - hopefully they will further improve the F10 - fingers crossed for me.

The changes are mostly to the floor (rear) as well as the integration of the gearbox and diffuser to improve the effectiveness of the blown diffuser. The floor changes are also designed to improve the integration of the exhaust gases to the blown diffuser.

They will also be reverting to a front wing pre-Spa in style.

These changes may well prove very important as they will be effective at all 5 remaining tracks :-)

Forza Ferrari!!

Heard it through the grapevine: Ferrari's upgrades for rainy Singapore are a bit on the unusual side

jake humphrey posted this, this morning i believe he just landed in Singapore http://twitpic.com/2qtkxr

that's wet..... to say the least

oh and ferrari were the only big team to use a Monza spec f-duct and wing, McLaren and redbull went low down force wing without but Jenson with high+ duct. but to be honest i doubt it would really effect there aero upgrades for this race it was probly a case of hammering off a few bits of carbon :P

Red Bulls at Monza with their F-Duct rear wings and "low attitude/smaller" rear wings.
