what about heidfeld? i think wage demands may have come into it. if i was mclaren i'd sign heifeld to take over as test/reserve driver.

Interesting move.... perhaps they were after some of the McLaren technical knowledge/input, cause i can't see what else he offers that Fisi and Heidfeld can't do any better.

Back on track. Pedro has been confirmed for Sauber this year, alongside kamikaze Kobyashi:

Good for Pedro, good lineup that.

Up and Comming Rookie and one of the most consistant drivers in F1 - who's done well in races also.

yep he did a solid job when he subbed for Montoya in 06, he will also be great for the team to help in developing the car

So no one saw that coming then.

Geez, this years driver market is crazy, button to mclaren, Schumacher comes back, Kimi gone, Alonso to Ferrari. This years grid will be so radically different.

Another low-blow for Heidfeld. If he becomes a test driver, it's another big bummer for him and i feel really sorry

Formula 1 is turning into a class reunion :rofl:
Next, we'll hear that Jacques Villeneuve will be joining USF1!!!
All the old heads from 2006 will try and come back now like Wurz and Ralph S....etc.
My 2006 comeback dark horse is Anthony Davidson imo.

I heard Jean Alesi is on the verge of following in Schumacher's footsteps and joining the over 40's brigade and signing for Renault.

Made you look! :P

Alesi now has some extra time on his hands;
Three days ago, Amato Ferrari told us wanting to engage two or three Ferrari F430 in Le Mans Series, one for Jean Alesi. Finally, there will be two F430 committed, just as we confirm directly the owner of AF Corse: "The entries for the Le Mans Series are now closed and we have two cars, one for the pair Bruni / Melo and the second for Perez-Companc/Russo. Jean (Alesi) will ultimately not in the game.
