God i'm so pissed off! andI disagree that it would be good for F1 to have Schumacher back...
1,It would be predictable and dull as ditchwater if he started soaking up all the wins again. Or
2, itwould be tragic to see a once great driver make a fool of himself.

I disagree. I guess while this is possible I don't see it being a sure thing. There's always the very real possibility that he could be competitive but not absolutely dominating, which would be excellent. I'd love to see him return and put on a good show but at the same time not completely wipe the floor with Hamilton, Alonso, Massa, Vettel, and such, and this seems to be a very realistic scenario. It doesn't necessarily have to be one extreme or the other, dominating or humiliating, but can end up being a happy medium.

Well said and I fully agree, I am expecting him to be competing in the middle to front of the pack. I think he will have a good car underneath him and will be able to compensate for loss of speed through his experience and consistency, I expect fairly average results at the start, but I really doubt he is going to be at the back of the pack making a fool of himself. I wont be surprised if we see him on the podium by seasons end.

If the car is any good then even sooner than by season's end

20 mil, I am sure that in the long runn that would cost less than Button. how much money/media coverage is MS comeback worth?

Even just the romours are making money for Merc, even my mate who dislike F1 are talking about it.

It would also make the driver market stagnate as regards the advancement of new talent,

Well at least since Nico Rosberg has already signed his contract he wouldn't be obliged to hand over all his track positions places and points to Shumacher like most of Schumachers other 'team mates' would he.....would he?

He wont soak up all the wins, dont think he'll make a fool of himself either. There are drivers out there now who are better than him. now.

Rosberg?? I truely hope he doesnt start his nonsense with him. Maybe he could try to lay to rest the ghost that he can only beat team mates by unfair advantage. That would be worth him coming back for.

Seem's as if 99% of you are reading too much into MS's possible comeback, I'm 100% sure it would be different if it was Senna making a comeback. The plot has beeen lost once again :( .

Why how would Senna's go?

I think it would be the same in the sense that the F1 world would love to see him return if that was possible. Neither driver were saints yet the two best imho and I rejoice in the idea that we may possibly get to see one return regardless of how their seaon turnout. :)

Good for Formula One, but I'm not sure if a comeback is good for his career. If he wins races left, right and centre again, then very well. But with the emergence of quite a few talented and fast drivers, Schumi may not find it as easy to chalk up the race wins now, especially considering that he has not been racing for quite a while. And his reputation may be ruined, if he flops.

If he comes back for the whole season and doesn't at least win a race, he'll have basically failed.

It is looking increasingly likely that Michael Schumacher will make a return to Formula One after his manager declared him fit to race.

Reports from Germany indicate a deal has already been signed for Schumacher to return to F1 with Mercedes in 2010. However, questions still remain whether his neck will be up to the stresses of driving in F1. He called off a comeback with Ferrari last season when an analysis of a neck injury, sustained during a motorbike testing accident, revealed it would be too risky for him to race.

However, his return now appears to be set after his manager Willi Weber told the Cologne newspaper Express that his driver is "super-fit" and that the 40-year-old's doctor is pleased with his progress.

1992 champion Nigel Mansell has also joined the list of F1 personalities supporting a Schumacher comeback. Mansell, who won his title at 39-years-old and also made a return at the age of 41, believes the German will have no problems if he chooses to return to the sport.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Michael challenged for another world title," Mansell told the Mail on Sunday. "It doesn't matter what age you are as long as you are professional, committed and focussed. People have written Michael off as over the hill, I look at it differently. Michael has tremendous experience and talent, and Mercedes will provide him with a fantastic package. He is extremely fit and we can take his commitment and professionalism for granted."

Mercedes has said it will not announce its second driver, who will partner Nico Rosberg, until the New Year.

Oh no. What Wili Webber says, Schumacher has other ideas.
