mr badoer backs him, and he says hes not bitter.

"Giancarlo is a quick driver. I am happy for him," he said.

"He has achieved his dream of driving a Ferrari, and he will do better than me because he has been racing for years in F1 and knows the 2009 cars well."

However, Badoer refuses to be bitter, saying: "I realised my dream. I will always be able to tell my kids I raced two races for Ferrari, Maranello had faith in me.

"I only have one regret - from the third grand prix I would have done better.

"There was no agreement on how many races I would do. I thought I had time to improve. And these rules stop a reserve driver from testing and make him a victim - it happens only in Formula One."

"My intention is to stay. I am finished with races but my relationship with Ferrari continues," he said.

Never shouted for Ferrari since Alesi drove for them. :hehe:

It's just like riding a bike, something you never forget how to do :D !

Ferrari asked Rossi if he'd drive but he declined. Said the middle of the season with no running in the car is not a good idea and also that his neck wouldnt stand it. Wise man i'd say!!

Force India confirms Liuzzi in second car

The Force India team has confirmed reserve driver Vitantonio Liuzzi will replace Giancarlo Fisichella from the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.

Fisichella left the team last week to drive for Ferrari, and it was expected Liuzzi would take his compatriot's place at the Silverstone-based squad.

"I'm delighted to give Tonio the opportunity to get back into a race seat, which I know he has been itching to do for the past two years," said team boss Vijay Mallya.

"Force India is now in a very competitive position and we need a driver who can continue this momentum. This will be the chance for Tonio to demonstrate to both the team and the field that he has the commitment, speed and professionalism to perform and I am sure he will seize this opportunity."

Twenty-eight year-old Liuzzi last raced in Formula 1 at the end of the 2007 season, and has not tested grand prix machinery since November.

The Italian, however, is optimistic he will be able to do a good job to continue with Force India's impressive form.

"I can't wait to get back into the car in race trim, particularly at my home Grand Prix in Monza," he said. "I really appreciate the opportunity Vijay has given me, particularly now Force India has a great car that's performing very well.

"I am confident I can carry on our progress. I'm very motivated, I'm in good shape and hungry to get some more points on the board.

"Although it's unfortunate that this came about as an direct result of Felipe's accident, this is my opportunity to show people what I can do and I'm really looking forward to it."

It's nice that Fisichella gets his dream-shot to drive a Ferrari but, would the same offer be there if Force India run Ferrari motors. STR-Ferrari is last in the constructors and Ferrari nearly got their a** kicked at Spa by a back-marker with Mercedes power. I see a linkage of this topic and the topic, "Mercedes Set To Buy Into Brawn". In F1 Mercedes is winning the engine battle but there is also Image and PR battles to maintain. It was a stroke of genius in signing Fisichella (eliminating Force India Mercedes engine threat) and also winning PR and image battle. Now that Fisichella has been let into the Ferrari Candy Store, where will he be in 2010.

Liuzzi is one of the great wasted talents in racing. he got no chance to show what he could do in an F1 car really. He was amazing in the F3000 season he won and he's just been left to rot on the substitutes bench for years. He'll be rusty I imagine. I watched him drive in A1GP earlier this year and hew was very quick but had lost his edge it seemed in the races.

I say give him a chance. We'll see how he does.

Can't be as bad as LB :P:twisted:

I don't think he'll be much better tbh.

He'll make it into Q2 and end up 8th or 9th on race day.

Never
