I didn't learn to drive until I was 20. The good thing about learning (and passing) so late is that insurance is far more reasonable. Well, sort of reasonable anyway!

Depends on the car really. On my first proper car, the difference in insurance between being 20 and being 21 was about £20,000, so I didn't actually didn't get to drive my first proper car for 3 weeks after I'd bought it....

For the Exige, actually, I don't think being 25 makes a shred of difference because it's a high grouped car. For lower grouped cars, generally the price goes down a bit when you turn 25, but it was an absolute nightmare trying to find anyone who would insure me on the Exige for any decent rates. For something like the Exige, you have to be 30 before you see good insurance drops I think, and you get a far larger spread of insurers willing to insure you - about half the insurers I called, both specialist and high street, wouldn't insure me until I was 30. And that's despite me having a completely clean license with no points and no accidents since I started driving (*touch wood*) (although the car is modded and this probably has some bearing on the situation too).

Fantastic news!! Does that mean you'll come to the Hethel stuff later in the year, particularly as you are just down the road ;)

Have you decided S1/S2 yet? Whatever you buy, I would say make sure it has air con. If it's a hot day, even with the air con on, the interior gets really warm.

i really dont like the S1, so S2, its either that or 111r, and i actually think the exige is a little cheaper :?

ooh, i doubt it! not to race, (if the thing i found on the net is what it is) its gonna be a while before i get some confidence in it
(past cars, ford fiest 'R' reg, skoda felicia 'N', vauxhall astra estate diesel 'L', ford fiesta MK1 'E')
so a bit different

insurance is not as bad as i thought, through admiral

check, on the aircon, my step dad stopped by the garage for some info, hell be lending me the money, Hopefully!

Ah, I didn't mean racing. It's Lotus' 60th birthday this year and there's a birthday bash in September and hopefully thousands of Lotus's are going to descend on their HQ :D
