I think Merc will have to keep a eye on the rear view mirror, Red bull and Ferrari are not too far behind here.
Very interesting race coming up, And it was raining when Sky finished up their Quali coverage, So perhaps a chance of having a wet Singapore race as well.

Mercs long runs in practice showed a much bigger and morf familiar difference to the rest, most importantly IMO, Lewis made the option tyres last the longest of anyone

if Lewis gets a good start and Nico doesnt get swamped, then they should be able to stay out much longer on the first stint and rejoin in fresh air, and if Nico doesnt do anything stoopid or rash or get all emo on Lewis' gearbox they should stay clear of the desperadoes in the pack, e.g I doubt Maasa will get to the end without being hit in the front by a rookies rear, possible Mag

Yup I reckon Merc are setup for long stints tomorrow, maybe even a 2/3 stopper choice strategy for max flexibility between their drivers

Ideal set of circumstances here: Lewis gets his unusual good start, while Nico on the dirty side gets overwhelmed by Dan and ends up in a lap 1-5 tussle over second or third place. We haven't really seen Nico, when the chips are down, fight tooth and nail with opposition other than his team-mate (which, barring dodgy behavior, usually loses out) with decent cars. Dan has a good feel for that Red Bull, has momentum and is feeling his oats. I wanna see those two go at it. And of course, Vettel may be inclined to stick his nose in there too.

All of this of course from a selfish point of view. I really just want to see Lewis, after earning pole on a tough track, have a smooth and straightforward race from front to flag. Let Nico have some challenges for a bit and see how/if he steps up under the pressure.

Such fun! :)

Bit of a boring qualifying. Pitt about Kimi he finally seems on form.

Nico ' s lock up at turn 14 cost him pole. But could the front row of the grid be any closer. In fact the pack is really close this race.

and Lewis' lock up at turn one cost him a bigger advantage on pole

A mistake by Hamilton but he managed to hold onto pole. Very close. Rosberg is probably kicking himself for changing his brakes.

They are in a big battle though with the Red Bulls. I don't know if Hamilton or Rosberg are going to be able to race with Ricciardo who is showing that he is the most gifted driver on the track this season.

With their massive car advantage seemingly dulled this weekend it could all come down to driver skill set amongst top two teams. If this is the case look for another Ricciardo victory.

Nah , Lewis is the most talented. IMO of course. But yes having the car advantage removed by the type of track it was good to see the Merc drivers retain superiority, and it is indeed a juicy prospect we have in store tomorrow if Ricciardo can get himself in the mix . I hope he does. Be nice if Alonso was in there as well.
Nico may be cursing the brake change, but better than having the brakes explode and having to drive from the back of the grid. And without the change who knows, there may have been more lock ups or overshoots.

Damn, got excited about a Ferrari pole after Q1 and Q2. Shame when it came to Q3 Alonso couldnt find those 2 tenths. Shake about Kimi too. He at least matched Alonso and at times was marginally faster, so a top 3 may have been possible for him.

Any one of 8 cars could win tomorrow - could be a thriller!

They both had lockups that cost. Its fair to assume both cost the same amount of time, so the driver that came first was the better driver

unless you mean that Nico has such bad racecraft that a lockup must cost him more than it does Lewis who handles them better, in that case he should leave the mistakes to Lewis becasue he is not good enough to avoid them costing him pole, meaning the better man is on pole

good opinion, the great thing is we will finally have some facts to back that up tomorrow as this is the first time Riccs car is good enough to compete and he starts just behind.
he should really win if he is the best driver, as his Senna like talent will make up for the minute car difference on this track

lets gloat after the race

Didn't watch qual but seems I missed a cracker. Props to Lewis street fighting his way back to pole after screwing it a bit at T1. Could've gone 2 tenths faster, both Merc drivers made mistakes which made it look closer than it really is.

Get that start right, keep the other guy behind by T1 and Lewis should be in control. The start is crucial as anything here.

Actually I wouldn't mind Rosberg beating him to T1...as long as Lewis stays 2nd. I'd like to see Rosberg pissing his pants and missing braking points again, not much runoff to run off into this time around.

Epic qualifying!! Everybody being within a few tenths (and thousandths) of each other was outstanding!! hats off to hamilton for not being a silverstone boo boo bee boo and keeping the pedal on the floor after locking up into turn one. Did you guys hear raikkonen's engineer telling him to stop the car on track? That would have guaranteed a 3-4 start for ferrari!! That would have been epic troll status. It was interesting to see some fire from both grosjean and rosberg over the radio. They both seem to keep it cool most of the time, though this is not the first time we've seen them have some passion/anger break through.

AND OMG DID YOU GUYS SEE ROSBERG PARK IT IN Q1?!?! WHAT A CHEATER

.....for not being a silverstone boo boo bee boo and

That's my line for Button and you know it.
