Based on previous form when it comes to penalties, the result was what I expected tbh... So, looking to the World Cup....

Well, at least England defend decently. When they actually played higher up they weren't so bad, players just seemed to get swamped and lose confidence. Lump it to the big man up front, I think some of the players need electro-shock therapy to get it out of their system.

Pirlo was good, he reminds me of Zidane.

World Cup qualification isn't too much of a problem, it's being able to keep the ball, not much of a problem against a poor team, they'll give it back or make defensive mistakes but it was really pushing it to play deep against Italy.

Love the England goalie, and the rest of the defence are good. kept out all Italy's chances. Shame about the penalties. You'd think the top footballers in the country could a) aim it into the hole, its big enough! and b) hit it a bit harder, not just creaping along the floor. But they're brave to volunteer for it, it must be so scary. I liked how they played better than the matches before(because they got the ball in scoring positions more often), but Italy deserved to win, even though they were not good at scoring goals.

Looking forward to the final, should be great, Italy's midfield might give Spain's a run for their money, their defence was pretty shakey though, but the Spanish game might suit the Italian defence, slow intricate play rather than Germany's fast dribbling attack.

Also got my eye on Italy, they may surprise everyone cause no one is really expecting them to do anything.

Wish i'd put my money where my mouth was! This is World Cup '06 all over again. Although i think the final is gonna be very boring, probably 0-0...

Seeing as there's more italians in Vancouver... i'd say it would be nicer if Italy won

I dont mind either way... but I would like to see if Ferrari people and Alonso are doing like a BBQ day and stuff, that would be fun.... its times like these when you wish you were a millionaire... and knew people who know people.........

What a one-sided game.

Spain just started so much quicker than Italy, who really defended pretty badly, then they could never get back into it. Weren't playing too badly until 10 men down due to injury.
