So, uh. They've decided it's now illegal.

But because some teams were doing it before it was illegal, they can carry on?

...what the duck

One rule for one team....another rule for the other....its needs properly sorting

Thanks mate :) This is the first time I've been to a race. All the years I've been into F1, I've simply watched on the TV. So this is really exciting. :D

This blown diffuser argument seems to be six of one, half dozen of the other. McLaren were allowed to use extra fuel for their engine braking on the overrun which would have given McLaren and the other Mercedes engined teams an advantage so the FIA allowed Renault powered cars to run the overrun at 50% for "reliability" reasons. My opinion is that the overrun throttle use was limited to 10%; so no extra fuel or more throttle usage on the overrun; teams/engine makers had plenty of time to change engine design, wasn't the ban announced before the first race in Europe?

That's not so good though I think I know how he feels after walking about 8 miles on sand today.

You need to write to MrE and quote the DDA.

The reduction on the effectiveness (I don't think there is an outright ban) of the EDB was on the cards for pretty much most of the season, however it was only confirmed about 2 weeks ago. I doubt anyone will have done anything too in depth in terms of design changes until the reduction was confirmed.

The ban was announced back in May 19th/20th (I believe), they've had seven weeks to sort something out. Yes, it was officially announced two weeks ago that Silverstone would be the place for the implementation but all the teams and engine manufacturers knew the change was coming, just not when it was coming, inaction is not an excuse, they should have to live with the consequences.
