Good to meet you KingVee!

I thought I'd do mine even if I did it already:
1. How long have you been a race fan?
I was into V8 Supercars at 12/13 years of age. Living in Tasmania really ignited me, particularly going to a TARGA parade at the end of it all.

Really got into the sport as a Hamilton fan in the 2008 season. Converted to Vettelism by the end of the season.
2. What was the first race you attended?
My school athletics carnival. I actually got lapped in an 800m race, but hoped that no one would notice. I think it was 800m anyway. My biggest highlight was coming third in one of the heats in grade 9. I ran with all the special-ed and disabled kids.

Otherwise, no actual motor race.
3. What was the first race you saw on television?
I would say V8 supercars in probably 2002. First F1 race I watched I think was Monaco 2007.
4. Name your three most favorite racing venues of all time.
Not all specific to Formula One.
- Spa, Belgium.
- Nurbugring Nordschleiffe.
- Circuit de Catalunya.
5. Who are you top 5 most favorite drivers?
No particular order.
- Sebastian Vettel (beyond all doubt)
- Greg Murphy
- Jean-Eric Vergne (although he has been underwhelming so far in Formula One)
- Peter Solberg
- Niki Lauda
6. Married – children – pets?
No, no, and no.
7. What is your Occupation – Industry?
I have been working in IT Mostly, but have been out of a job for a few months now. Seems my personal ambitions aren't working out. Have now set up a home-based résumé writing firm.
8. What are your favorite things to do not related to racing?
Singing... Have done a little bit of classical, but mostly into old-style swing music and Gershwin stuff.
I'm also an avid student of the Bible, and have a few Bible Students who I am teaching/helping in my spare time.
9. What is your favorite food?
Spaghetti Bolognese, Pizza with garlic chilli & prawns, Custard, and all kinds of chocolate.
I currently have a craving for Brie Cheese on crackers as I am typing this, but too broke to afford such luxuries.
10. What do you drink?
Monster, Red Bull, Pepsi Max, Irish Whisky, Hahn Super-Dry, and Jack Daniels!
11. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I think I mostly wanted to live & work at Bethel, our Australian religious headquarters, supporting or actively working in the printing of Bibles and other Bible Study aids or the Watchtower & Awake magazines.
However, when I was 7 I wrote that I wanted to be a dentist or a policeman.
12. If any… Who is the most famous person you know?
I was a friend on facebook with Jean-Eric Vergne when I was following him through his junior career. While I am still his "friend" he has since created another personal accounted since entering Formula One.
Otherwise, anyone with a face-to-face relationship, no. But have walked past Richard Branson at Circular Quay before.
13. List the top 5 TV shows of all time.
- Everybody Loves Raymond
- Big Bang Theory
- The Voice Australia
- Top Gear UK
- The Simpsons
14. List your top 5 movies of all time.
I don't believe in watching the same movie twice, except for Pixar Films and Kiddy Movies.
- The whole Ice Age franchise
- Finding Nemo
- Over the Hedge
- Cable Guy
- The recent Get Smart movie with Steve Carrell
15. Who is in the image on your Avatar and what's the significance.
Sebastian Vettel, whom I am absolutely a big fan off. Such consistency with a car is a rare feat. Particularly with his qualifying, he just puts in a perfect lap, race after race after race after race.
In Monaco 2008, the second race I've ever watched, I saw him come from 19th to finish 5th without any attention from the broadcasters. I'd swear he was actually overlapped.
After Spa '08, I nearly stopped watching the sport because of the dubious stewarding in Hamilton's case. But I'm glad I watched the next race to see Vettel win for the first time in an STR. In Brazil when I saw him finish 4th after overtaking Hamilton and almost destroying his title hopes. (should have done so, in retrospect I think Hamilton lucked his way into that title but then I also remember the blatant stewarding decisions. But then Massa was quite unlucky as well, so it could have gone either way). How could I not marvel at a kid who could overtake a McLaren in an STR?
He was the rightful winner in 2010. He overcame a lot bad luck, yet I was certain he would win the title a few races out. See some of my earlier posts around that time. And I could keep going on, but that's what the That's Vettel thread is for.
