There is a fine line between a racing incident and causing an avoidable collision. Depends on the stewards of the meeting.

...and whether or not Lewis is involved. :hehe:

Yeah, its not his fault. It's everyone elses

Are these arguments still going on?!?!?!

What's the difference between Lewis Hamilton and Captain Edward J. Smith of the Titanic?

Captain Edward J. Smith didn't claim that the iceberg "turned in on him".

And here I was going to say that Lewis wouldn't have had the third class passengers locked in. :hehe:

It's funny though isn't it? Lewis, despite being penalised by the stewards almost always ends up no worse or better off. The last two races, Monaco and Spain, he was penalised without actually losing any places and in Monaco if there wasn't the red flag, he'd be out and not been in a position to attack Maldonado to receive the second penalty!

agreed, sometimes you win sometimes you lose, and you hope in the end they balance out. If you're going to benefit though you'd like those benefits to bear P1 fruit not P8 or P9. I don't necessarily think Vettel would have lost his race lead had that red flag not occurred, but a lot of people here seem to think that, so perhaps no one benefited more than him.

We'll never know now will we? but I think Vettel would have held on; but it would have been a battle especially if Alonso and/or Button were getting better drive out of the final corner and through the tunnel, but that said going offline in the tunnel is a risky business out on the marbles as Massa found out. The only thing for sure is that we, the spectators were robbed of a grandstand finish!

I dunno, His drive through hurt him.

Yes, looking at the finishing times, you could argue that he could have gotten fourth place but I don't believe the drive-through had that much of an effect; given that the red flag allowed Hamilton to close up to Maldonado and the lead pack which I believe more or less negates the drive-through Hamilton received!

Take away the 20 seconds or so the drive through cost him before the Redflag and he would most likely be ahead of Maldanado.

That's the thing we will never know; where was Maldonaldo in relation to Hamilton at the time of the drive-through and more importantly; what was the time difference at the time of the red flag; if it was more than 20 seconds then Hamilton benefitted from the Red Flag, ignoring that it allowed for a change of wing end plates!

After the quali fiasco 4th i think was best he could have achieved without the intervention of the meddlers.

Meddlers? Yeah, don't forget the part Hamilton's driving had to play in it or anything.

Yeah meddlers. Theres far too much meddling spoiling the racing. I dont have a problem with lewis' driving. I do have a problem with stupid rules like changing tyres on the grid ruining the race and attempts at overtaking being penalised too harshly. And now two DRS zones with further stupid rules attached. Where will it end. Traffic lights for overtaking?

1. Your reasoning behind calling the race steward's 'meddler's' is quite laughable. As I mentioned before your biased opinion toward's Lewis cloud's your common sense. Oh and I do not believe anyone had an issue with Lewis's driving it was his choice of an improper place to attempt a pass. If he was so much faster he could have waited while sizing up a better/safer place to pass. All of the drivers in any serie's I have followed never blinded me from bitching at them for making a stupid move. Get some racing experience under your belt and then you can make an informed opinion but untill then.....

2. I agree the tire change was just pure ignorance and handed the race win to Vettel but Monaco is 99.99% a no passing track in these modern days of F1.
