Kiki,
Please help save this thread so think about our request?

Ok done. Since this is actually my thread and I quite agree I do want to save it especially since it is mine I will do so. Also because you specifically asked me to do so and I personally think your great Gregg, then your request has been acknowledged.:wink::thumbup:

Thank you as I think we all appreciate it, well maybe not Longblow, but the effort is what counts.

Sounds good :) .

Now how much longer do we have to wait until the season begins, I'm dying over here! I'm really hoping that we see a very noticeable difference on track with the new aero package and slicks. Man I wish testing was aired on tv :( !

Well good to see that since DC has retired somebody has taken up his safety officer tag.

Heidfeld expects a lot of accidents next year
Wednesday 31st December 2008

Nick Heidfeld believes the wide front wings that will be used next season could lead to more on-track clashes.

New regulations coming into effect in 2009 have reduced the width of the rear wing, and standardised the centre section of the front wing to prevent teams developing the front wing.

Heidfeld fears there will be a lot of contact between cars in the early part of the season as drivers could struggle to get used to the new wings.

"I think it might happen more often, especially in the beginning because you need to get used to it," he told Autosport.

"Sitting in the car, you can't see the front wing. OK, you know it is there, but from previous years you will have got so used to what you had that maybe at the start or in a very quick situation where you have to react without thinking, I could imagine that we would see more wings touching."

The German admits it is too difficult to say whether or not the new aerodynamic rules will make overtaking a little easier.

"With the wings that we have it's no secret should be less affected by wind and therefore might be a bit easier to drive," he added. "But at the moment it is difficult to tell."

However DC is gone now, so surely there will be less crashes lol.

Irvine: Kimi has to step up http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3 ... 38,00.html
Tuesday 30th December 2008

If Kimi Raikkonen doesn't get his act together next season then he should either be sacked or receive a massive pay cut, according to Eddie Irvine.

Raikkonen had a disappointing 2008 campaign. He won two of the first four grands prix of the season, but then went off the boil and failed to win another race and eventually ended the season third in the Drivers' Championship.

The Finn admitted at the end of the season that he was "lacking motivation".

Former Ferrari driver Irvine says Raikkonen should get the sack if he doesn't beat team-mate Felipe Massa next year.

"Kimi has to step up to the mark," Irvine told Virgin Media.

"He is a very highly paid driver, maybe the highest paid in F1. If you're the highest paid you have to be the best and he's not doing the job, simple as that. In sport if you perform you get paid and if you don't perform you're out.

"If he doesn't beat Massa next year I'd be sacking him or reducing his wages massively."

There can be no excuses for Raikkonen next season: Ferrari have been going all-out to solve his problems. If he doesn't perform to a satisfactory standard next season, I'd sack him without hesitation.

Irvine's never wrong. Kimi has the highest wage in F1 and this season he just spent more time dawdling, dozing, day-dreaming than making an effort to defend his title. If Kimi can't cut it again next year, Ferrari will get in somebody who can and probably already have the arrangements in place... *cough* Alonso *cough*.

Yeah but Eddie is sort of saying if Kimi gets 109 points and Massa gets 111, Kimi should get sacked.
So that would be abit harsh.

I can't agree. I'm sick of the paranoid, ungrateful whinging from Formula One drivers.
