Typical pc world guy trying to sell me 'high quality' hdmi leads too

They do that here as well; when I took my mother-in-law to buy a new Bluray player at Best Buy, the salesperson tried to sell her a $100 cable, which I put an immediate stop to...

There is no evidence that a $100 cable is any better than a $10 cable in testing!

The people that think it makes a difference probably have these taped to the back of their hifi's

I have worked with many different sound systems from home to pro audio over the years and I've never seen anything like that before. I can't say I doesn't make a difference as I have not tested them, but it sounds unlikely that it would make a significant difference to the sound, generally hard things made sound worse.

There's this too, audiophiles who think that digitally stored music will sound different depending on what the files are stored on even when it's played back through the same equipment.

Some people are crazy. The best sound system I have ever heard was built by a guy I used to work with. He bought electronic components by the thousands and tested them all so they where all perfectly matched with each other.

Is that me?

NO!! At least, I don't think it's you!!
It was more about how some of us are living in the stone ages, when it comes to technology
and the picture you posted of those lovely pebbles reminded me of the Flintstones!!

(((( Why? Is it you? :yikes: )))

At least the components are something that can make a difference, its a little bit different to taping little bags of gravel onto your leads.

I know good sound when I hear it, but I guess I am less of an audiophile than I thought, I have never used stones or specific hardware to stream my music. I can understand better cables and components creating better sound, but the storage media the file sits on surely would make no difference as it's just zeros and ones, the equipment at the end of the chain decodes it!

Was a bit worried I'd inadvertently offended you, too!

I applied for a Discover card after they sent me several "pre-approved" letters and to my surprise they gave me a $6400 credit limit, which is more than double the limit of my existing VISA card!

You're rich folks now

Not exactly rich, but it's a starting point... Credit Karma seems to think I have a very good chance of being approved for a AMEX platinum card! :drink:

You shouldn't have to pay for a credit card!
