Lewis keeps getting paired with WDC and keeps beating them. For some of you to say he is the defacto #1 at Macca is a straight up lie! Actually his teammates have hurt him more then helped him. In his 4 years in F1 he's gone to the last race hunting for the title in 3 with winning once. If he was the #1 as most claim I guarantee you he'd have more then 1 title! Jenson made it clear he'd rather QUIT then be a #2..........Alonso............ well you know!

Wrong thread.

I believe Massa will have his opportunity next year. I hope he improves his performance. If he’s able to equal or outperform Alonso he could become Ferrari’s nº1. If he has good chances for the title and Alonso hasn’t, I have no doubt that Alonso will help Massa to get the WDC. This is clearly the politic of the team Ferrari and of many others that would never recognize it.
Before the Abu Dhabi race everybody contemplated this possibility: 1.- Vettel 2.- Webber 3.- Alonso, and Vettel allowing Webber to overtake him, and nobody found that it was and scandal, but something natural between team mates.
We should equally judge everybody and forget about hate and settling old scores.

You cant be serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FA did the impossible to ruin LH title chances for WDC,what makes you think he'll be different with Massa? Judging a character is not ROCKET SCIENCE
#228321
For FA to brag how he put the beatdown on Massa is just wrong when we now(why/how) Massa has 1less victory and FA has 1+
After that Massa tanked it !

BRAG you cannot be serious? You are only reading into what you want to believe is the truth ie twisting words, are you a British journo?

I see both sides restating their points, not just the Lewis fans. :DI could care less about any driver's life outside of what the do on the grid.

If thats true why bringup their 'philanthropic and humanitarian causes outside of F1'?

But what they tweet or anything stupid or self indulgent they may say is only a big deal to the fanatical in F1.

Or too the newbies who think they know it ALL  .

What did actually Fernando do to ruin Lewis title chances? It was Lewis who ruined McLaren chances when he was leading the WDC for 17 points with 20 left and drove like the rookie he was losing such an advantage. Fernando had a worst car and couldn’t fight for the title because as Uncle Ron said, they were racing against Alonso. In fact, if they would have given Alonso the same car than Hamilton’s, probably McLaren would have won the WDC with Alonso, but they chose Hamilton,… sorry Raikkonen.

On the contrary! I was only pointing out that he's never been #1 the way that Alonso has or in any way! For FA to brag how he put the beatdown on Massa is just wrong when we now(why/how) Massa has 1less victory and FA has 1+

He beat Massa regardless of what happened in Germany, Alonso didn't start de facto number one, he got there due to Massa being sub pa all season, and indeed Alonso himself leaving Ferrari quite far back in the WDC.

I guess he was asked a question, and choose to answer it.

He's not the easiest guy to have as your team mate, but when was the last time two genuinely top f1 drivers have got along as team mates?
#228325
I remember after the end of 07 season on the last race there were 2 cars deemed illegal, and if points were taken off Lewis would be WDC. Now when Alonso was asked he said something like "I dont know what Lewis feels, but if I was him I wouldnt want to win the title that way!''
He'd rather win illegally then otherwise

As for his BIG achievment of beating Massa, congrats to FA,BUT running the 100 against a man in crutches and doing victory laps afterwards is not much to brag about!

Lewis and Jenson got along fine!

I'm not counting Jenson, my criteria is higher, I'm talking the best who will be remembered after they've been retired. It's not hard to see he's just not in the same league. Very good driver though, more talented than I am, just about, but still.

For some reason ther is a double standard when it comes to Lewis! SO JB doesnt count because you rate him low! Fine then Lewis SHOULD be #1 and Jens not race him and turn into a Massa???? Common, what applies to FA doesnt to LH???
FA gets fine with teammates till they beat him or try to! Not like you put it "he aint the easiest to get along with"

It's easier to see with Hekki (who became number two, towards the end of 08 and I'm in perfect agreement with), and Massa this season. The gap between Massa and Alonso is a fair way bigger than the Lewis Jenson gap, I might have actually suggested Mclaren favour Lewis in that Lewis and Jenson thread, can't really remember.

Because not everything in life is a keepsake. There's a lot more $hit tonnage than gems, Heikki Kovalainen is a birdwatcher... I can relate to that, Jarno Trulli went out of his way to try and get donations after the earthquake in Italy last year, that's a humanistic cause worth noting.

There are quite a few forum members that come and stand on a soapbox over and over again to complain about the people that come and stand on a soapbox to praise Lewis Hamilton... and just to get back on topic, we know that the people defending Alonso this thread could be seen throwing stones at Hamilton a couple of threads over... so you see, without the constant bickering.... there's just not enough gems in life to keep the forum out of hibernation during the silly season.

I'm a more talented driver than you as well.

Two things men will never say they're bad at... driving, and making love.

That was said by some bloke on top gear.

Anyway, I've been arguing its too hard to quantify, so how are you and me going to settle this?

I dont agree with that! Only if teamates want to help e/o on their own merit. It was 2 early for t/o and Massa to move over! But SF new they had 2 keep FA happy!
