As someone worded it so awesomely earlier this season. "Webber at his best is as good as Vettel at his worst" and we have seen that so far this season.
Quite clearly the only way for Webber to get his team mate's support is to Win at Sao Paulo. If Webber only needed 4 points from the final race, (if Vettel, Kubica and Hamilton drop off the face of the earth and Alonso finishes second) then all Webber would have to do is finish ahead of Alonso.
But if I see Webber finish BEHIND Alonso or outside the top 2, then he doesn't deserve Red Bull's backing into the final race. Vettel is still very capable of winning the title, it's not too hard for Alonso to finish 5th at one of the remaining races.
BTW - why is everyone in the media also against Vettel - I don't understand.
