I never mind if a driver displays a poor personality. I just like the racing.

Personality comes out in racing style. A total sh*t off the track is a total sh*t on the track.

That is true if a guy is a butt hole and so goes out on the track and behaves that way to the other drivers. Schumacher did that yesterday but I never see anyone in here talking about his personality outside the sport. This thread is about Vettel being annoying. I don't really know about Vettel acting like that out there on the track. They all show their primadonna attitudes on the radio. I don't care either way.
You can't say it's impossible for a guy to be a butthole in his personal life yet be proper on the racetrack. I'm sure that's often the case.

He made it a point to try and take fastest race lap at the very last lap, taking it away from Webber. He's done or tried to do that a couple of other times this season... has anyone told Vettle there are no championship points for fastest lap?

Ummm not sure if you've noiced, but BOTH Red Bull drivers do that when out of contention for the race win. Webber did the same a couple of times last year- particularly in Japan.

Sure enough, I'd do the same thing if the car I was driving was upto it!

P.S. Vettel is annoying.

YES. I pretty much support RBR, but Vettel annoys the CRAP out of me. He's such a brat. Too bad he's physically attractive.

Reminds me of Usain Bolt, no he is not the greatest... anyway, back to F1.

Vettel is like any other German F1 driver; a little bit arrogant and immature.

Big fail here. Apart from the pretty bad nationalistic generalization, may I mention Heidfeld?

Suthil? Rosberg? Hulkenerg?

Lets keep off the national stereotyping please.

Sutil was really immature last year, in his driving with all the incidents he caused, but he's been much better this year, don't think hes very arrogant.

Hulkenburg, is arrogant I think. And seemed immature at the start of this season with over exuberant driving, though this is only his rookie year.

Last year? Poor Adrian was cursed with bad luck. And Raikkonen.

And may I add the awesome Timo Glock?

i totally agree with the comment made about the fresh faced vettel 2007/2008, he seemed a real good guy, and if you have a copy of
the 2008 season review, you would know what im referring to, but since last year, has he become a bit too big for his own good?,
i definatly prefer webber now after the silverstone wing disagreement, and he also got a big cheer from the fans almost like lewis
and jenson got after the race :)

Webber was the honorary Brit that day. Us Brits dont like unfairness.
I never bought into the fresh faced Vettel thing.

yeah he certainly was the honouray brit at silverstone after our brits, but i thought vettel was alright when he first came, now he is becomming slightly annoying, but not as bad as alonso :hehe:

Hi Everyone
I have only just discovered this site.
My son and I were at the Hungaroring over the weekend and during the race and particuarly afterwards on the podium virtually all fans inc RedBull fans were remarking on the mardy attitude of Vettel. On the freebus back into Budapest my son and I were talking to a couple of RedBull fans and they were scathing of his arrogant attitude.
I must say you often learn more about a person in adversity than in triumph and it certainly seems to be the case with Vettel.
Had my say now....simples
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Gary, you should give yourself a proper introduction. Your statement above is a basic rule of human interaction. I don't blame the drivers as much as I blame the media and the obsessive nature of the fans that require being fed other aspects of their driver heroes lives.

I don't really care if a driver is nice or not, or if they kick the dog on their way out the house, because I'm interested in F1 racing and nothing else. It's great to know someone is a good person and perhaps enjoys certain off track activities as you do but in the end, it doesn't really affect their driving or performance on the track. You probably don't like everyone you work with, yet it doesn't keep them from doing a good job. It's the same for drivers.

The only thing I care about is that they're the consummate professional when they're racing.

I can't see why loads of people are anti Vettel.Yea ok he's a bit moody but everyone gets stressed out at times. The drivers that tend to come out speak loads and mess about tend not to be the best drivers.

He gives interviews on the grid, something great drivers like Senna,Schumacher and Hamilton don't/didn't.

I think people often miss judge confidence and self belief as arrogance.

I don't mind the guy :D
