Robert Kubica heading out on another job, yesterday

Kubica offers to help Korean GP
There was new hope for the inaugural Korean Grand Prix this week as Renault driver Robert Kubica agreed to help out with the track’s behind-schedule building work.

‘Robert heard rumours that the Korean track might not be finished on time and without thinking he chucked a bag of tools in his R30, strapped a ladder to the top, and headed off to Yeongam’. said a spokesman.

‘Because he comes from Poland, Robert is used to delivering high quality building work on schedule and at a reasonable price,’ our mole continued. ‘In fact, he’s a little bit offended they didn’t ask him to quote for the whole job in the first place’.

Sources say Kubica suffered a slight setback upon arriving in Korea when he realised that Vitaly Petrov still has his best spirit level after borrowing it for that kitchen re-build in Kidlington.

Nonetheless, Renault insist that the Polish driver will have finished his work on the Yeongam track before the Italian race in 5 days time and will once again be available for re-tiling, plumbing and other building works in the Enstone area, no job too big or too small.

If i was Polish i would be VEEERRRYYY offended.

Pretty weak joke TBH.

If it were really being handled by Poles we'd never get it done.

Bernie offers his opinion on the unreadiness of Korea. Apparently he's expressed doubt that the course will be ready, flip-flopping from his previous stance.

Bernie? Flip-flopping?? Who'd have thought.

and just as a side point....I was looking into travelling to the Korean GP.....but the track is located SO FAR AWAY from anything....it's 400kms from Seoul and 300km from the main airport!

Yeahhhh...This race ain't happening. And if it does, it's going to be the most off-the-wall ill=prepared race in the history of F1, which considering its early days is pretty bloody bad.

That's just an hour's drive for an F1 car.

Better still, let's have a GP on the moon, F1 racing at 1/6th Earth's gravity... it'll certainly punish mistakes... :hehe::twisted:

Well that's the dirty air problem solved.

forgive me if this has already been covered but. What happens if this race doesnt go on? I thought F1 is contractually bound with sponsors to deliver 20 races in 2010.

I think the bigger problem with be for S Korea itself; as Bernie said on the F1 Forum on the BBC; it's the host country that will be in deep do-do as they are the ones with the most contractual obligations and most to lose. The position on the calendar was provisional pending an FIA inspection, which should have been passed two weeks ago!
