All F1 fans should obviously put their money where their mouth is, and start buying houses next to spa francochamps.

dont have a problem with that, only thing is my mouth is bigger than my money.

yeah Amanda The track is named after the towns of Spa and Franchorchamps, they would be the towns you saw!

:hehe: Geography is not my strong suit. I didn't even notice Spa on the map, that's more north than I was looking. There are some smaller villages south of the track too.

Just out of curiosity, is the housing community around Spa rather posh?

There is no housing community around Spa going by what i seen, Its only the odd house here and there almost the whole area looked to be wooded

A quick google map search shows that there are a few villages close by to the north and south. However the question is still, why buy a house that close to a racetrack if you're just going to complain about the noise?

Do you have a link Amanda, wouldent mind having a look as i didnt see these villages when i was driving around the place lost :hehe:

The closest look are Francorchamps and Hameau de Ster to the north and Rivage, Burnenville, Malmedy etc to the south.

Fact is theres been a race track there since 1922 so even if you moved into a house right next to the circuit.

You have No right to moan.

But now I know where to parade with my banner Image

As for the Spa's of Spa, you do not hear the people of Monaco complaining and I think they are a bit more of an inconvenience than the Spa people, Plus I wonder how many tourists that Monaco gets a year.

but since Monaco is a temporary track, its only like a week or so per year right? compared to a permanent race track that probably sees more action in the whole entire year.

Still silly though, Imagine all those people who live by air force bases, they get jets flying over them all the time! but they know they chose to live there. I live close to a base, and we occasionally have a big plane fly above once in a while. Or worse yet, you live in a school zone, you know school time can be crazy, tons of angry soccer moms in vans and kids lol

I find it quite frustrating because presumebly their house prices were also altered by the location of the track. Do those houses come slightly cheaper because of the noice pollution or do racing fans pay through the roof for the location? I'm guessing the former given that the residents are complaining about noise

You get noise restrictions and problems like that all the time.

Monza had this issue a few years ago and a number of British circuits have to work around imposed sanctions.

Thing is, you only get moaning from race circuits, but i bet if you lived near a Football ground - Old Trafford for example there's much more disruption and its probably almost as noisy.

every time there's a game on during a weekday the whole already around where i work becomes gridlocked.

Yet you don't hear people complaing about that, fine it takes me a little longer to get home, but i'm not going to start writing to the council because of this.

And its not like its all year at spa anyway - yet football you get 1 - 2 months off.

And given the location of spa i bet a hell of allot less people are affected, its pathetic.
