Just scrap 2008 and give the title to one of the Super Aguri guys.

They cant change it, the if massa won the race then all the next championship races would have been different, whos to say that lewis would have come 5th in brazil, he may have pushed for a win. no way can they change it, they cant predict a championship winner

exactly! a new time line would have existed and everything afterwards would have been different. Anyone seen the butterfly effect that explains it

From earlier experience the rule (= practice ) goes:
- Driver's Championship will not be changed whatever happens
- Team Championship will be changed if a lesson needs to given

Anyway, it looks pretty clear that Massa and Lewis where driving under last years conditions and points they knew, so this does not directly impact the competition between them. So with common sense no reason to question Lewis's WDC. I can even leave out the fact that I don't like him.

I'm not surprised that Piquet, Briatore and Symonds are guilty but I didn't expect it to go down like this.

Very very dark day in the history of the sport i really hoped these allegations were false! Not sure what will happen to Renault now i hope the team survives because once again it came down to a couple of individuals not playing fair and those certain individuals have no gone! This wont have any effect on the 2008 championship because even though Massa's accident happened due to the fact that he stopped because of the safety car this was the same for pretty much everyone and all of those people did not drive away with the hose still attached. I doubt it but they could take away Alonso's win I'm not sure if Rosberg would then be classed as the winner or maybe they would claim no winner for that race?

Me neither, all sort of knew that they'd be guilty but were all hoping the allegations weren't true

Oh my god... I hadn't made my mind up about the allegations, but I'm more shocked than I thought I would be to find out they were true...

I mean he was already guilty for the actual crash, than lousy driver and got fired, feels bitter and then snitched on his ex-bosses.

I'm not excusing Piquet or anything, but think of it from his point of view. He gets a chance to do what he's dreamed of, but being in Renault turns out to be really difficult. He's a young guy under a lot of pressure, with questions over the continuation of his drive and his future in F1. I'm sure Briatore knows how to play a guy in that situation. So Pique does it, selfishly hoping that it'll help him in the long run. Then he gets fired. Yeah, I'm sure there was some bitterness in there... But then again, in his situation, what would you do? Stay quiet and run the risk of them doing it again? Or get it all out in the open, as it should be? He's not stupid - I'm sure he realised it would reflect badly on him, too.
