. When he was moving to McLaren he had to test in a blank car/overalls didn't he?

I've never seen that before actually, do you have photos of that?
:drink:

I think it was unofficial kind of thing.

The 25-year-old Spaniard wore unbranded overalls as he stepped into the unmarked car for his first run.

Alonso remains under contract to Formula One champions Renault until the end of the year and had not been expected to start testing with his new Mercedes-powered team until January.

Although McLaren had hoped for an early release, Renault team boss Flavio Briatore was quoted earlier in the week saying there had been no formal request and suggesting Alonso should instead enjoy his break

Alonso won't step in. I can't see Ferrari letting him drive their car and then taking any secrets back to Renault for the rest of the season!

Presuming that Phillipe is out of the Ferrari seat for at least the rest of 2009, Well...Scumacher had a biking accident in February and damaged his neck. Fitness may rule him out. . If Alonso was moving to Ferrari next year he would still have to finish his contracted races with Renault first. I believe about five years back or so the F1 Drivers association had an agreement on contract stability after some dodgy stuff was going on behind the scenes.I cant see Flavio letting Alonso go so soon after only just getting him back from Maclaren. The Sensible option would be to get a driver In place for the rest of the season. Someone with no external commitments. who could replace Phillipe if he ist coming back. personally I would love to see Gene and Badoer alternating for the rest of the season as a reward for their hard work and loyalty. Getting DC in would certainly be a headline grabbing move but not very likely!

Yeah he wont go there only to come back to Renault for exactly that reason.

lets say that Alonso does infact have a deal for 2010. Then the only way he can go to Ferrari early is to break his contract with Renault. Will Renault allow that to happen? hell no!! So that leaves the suspension as Ferns only hope of breaking his contract with Renault. If they lose their appeal and do in fact miss Valencia then surely Alonso would have a clause in his contract where such an incident is a breach and would allow him to rip it up and go where ever he wants!

all that is assuming he is definitely has a contract with Ferrari ofcourse :hehe:

Lols! What a can of worms that would be!

Seriously though, it is 100% Ben Collins (when he's free, they have a number of others who do the odd bit of driving), none other than Gordon Murray told my dad at the British GP in 2007 after he had been at Top Gear with the Caparo...

I can't believe how many of the papers in the UK failed to twig that it was a setup, the Times was particularly thrown by it all with some writers understanding and others, having had their mistake pointed out to them by others in the office declared the whole thing stupid and beneath them. What happened to doing some actual journalism!? It wouldn't have taken them long to figure out how impossible it is that MS is the stig. The Times employ a contributor who's job it is to basically watch the TV over the weekend and then slag it off a bit, and they couldn't even manage to do that correctly.

OMYGOSH! No wai!

I'd always loved the idea of it being Stig Blomqvist. They were just calling him by his name all along!

No its true, and Ted will fill in for Massa for the remainder of the season.

Of course people assumed would mean him giving up his duties to the BBC.

But Ted intendends to drive a Formula 1 car and disccus events in the pitlane at the same time.
