Hopefully James Allen has a bit of inside information. Although 'long recuperation' isn't the best news in the world it's far better than 'life threatening'
It's possible that he might miss the next race, even if there is such a gap between Hungary and Valencia.
Well "Long Recuperation" is vague really could mean not till next season

Don't know JA but I just got this tweet from Planet f1A worrying update on Felipe Massa has emerged with Sky Sports News reporting that the Ferrari driver is in a 'life-threatening condition'.
According to the station, surgeons at the Budapest hospital where Massa underwent emergency surgery on his fractured skull have told reporters that Massa's condition is "serious, life-threatening but stable."
I guess the reporter also failed to take onboard this part;Bazso and chief surgeon Lajos Zsiros say they expect Massa to be awoken Sunday.
Maybe recuperation after surgery near the brain is usually treated as serious and life threatening as standard.

By the sounds of it they've gone on from what's been reported on Sky Sports thanks to that clown who's blown it all out of proportion wanting to scare us all telling them.

So who is JA and why should we believe him?
If turns out ok he will be very lucky. he reportedly got hit by an object weighing 800 grams at around 170mph that's way more than 2000joules of energy which is 4 times the kinetic energy of a handgun bullet! The impact energy was similar to that of a .44 magnum.
