I always find this argument defeats the aims of both sides.

If you want to believe something, fine. But don't try and tell other people they're wrong unless you can demonstrably prove it. As far as I'm concerned, as long as what you believe does no damage and is not shoved down the throats of others*, I don't care.

*So Scientology, Latter Day Liars and so on are not treated so leniently.

Evolution has been proved!

Creation can be proved!!!! :irked:

I think that our bodies are too marvelous to have evolved. :)
God won't leave any PHYSICAL evidence because he's a spirit being. The only evidence we have is how fantastic we are created how fantasticly we are made. How everything is JUST right so that we can exist. To me that is physical evidence. (Which means that I'm contradicting myself.)

I think only a person not well versed in biology can make such a claim.

We evolved, get over it.

Fair enough, that is your assessment. However, it does not prove Creation. To prove Creation, you would need to find evidence of a Creator or of the Creating itself having taken place. Concluding that the result is too complex to have been created through evolution based on zero evidence is not science. Scientists make hypotheses and then test them to see if they are proved or disproved. Scientists have detailed what things need to be found to be fact to disprove or prove evolution and prove or disprove Creation. Evolution has proof and has not been disproved, Creation is yet to be proven and there is some evidence to disprove it (Though none conclusive).

Evolution is scientific fact. That doesn't mean there was no Creator, so I just don't understand the vocal opposition to Evolution voiced by theists.

For argument's sake, if there was a "God" why would we he want to be found out? What would be the motive? To turn everyone into a theist even though he has given them free-will and choice...

An intellectually dishonest post. You say 'if there was a "God"', which implies you are talking about any god, but then move to quote from the Bible and talk about the Christian god. Quoting the Christianity is folly, too, because, as I've touched upon earlier, there is a number of problems with religious texts. There are many varying accounts of the same event, they are not primary sources, there are historical inaccuracies, there are internal contradictions, etc. And this is the only evidence you have for the existence of god(s). It amounts to nothing.

Also, for what's it's worth, the free-will argument also exposes another contradiction in Christian doctrine, and no theologian has ever been able to explain it. The Fall was predestined to happen, and God, in his omniscience, was aware of this. Furthermore, God took no action to suitably deal with Satan, and allowed him to travel to Paradise unhindered. But yet, at the same time, Man was meant to have free will?[/quote]

Why are you going on about Christianity to me? I've said that I don't follow that faith, hence, I don't need a lecture on the contradictions of it's doctrines...

Absolute lunacy. Madness.

It will probably be impossible to disprove the existence of god(s) with absolute certainty. However, we cannot conclusively disprove the existence of the tooth fairy either.

Why are you going on about Christianity to me? I've said that I don't follow that faith, hence, I don't need a lecture on the contradictions of it's doctrines...

You seemed to be talking about the Abrahamic god. If not, I apologise. My point about the very poor quality of the existence of god(s), and probably the free will argument as well, remain valid.

Our bodies may be marvelous, but they are not that HUGE a step forward from other animals! and in fact... the steps that lead to such marvelousness are being explained as scientists discover....

Everything is just right so that we can exist... because we have had 'adaptations' in steps and over time to be able to exist! if you really think about it, its more the animals that have been changing than the environment, and unless the environmental change is too abrupt for genetics to adapt (i.e. evolve) then the race/species is threatened and dissapears.

I wouldn't try to persuade you against your religous beliefs; but seriously, evolution is absolute fact. Creation or the existence of a God has nothing to do with whether or not we acknowledge and understand evolution.

Evolution in practice can be seen by man domesticating animals. God didnt create the chihuahua now did he! and its hard to imagine its ancestors were wolves...

It's quite simply wrong to claim the human body is perfect, too. I mean, our eyes, which creationists hail as being perfect, are flawed in a couple of ways. They have a blind spot, and I've needed spectacles to read since I was in my mid teens!
