So anyway, speaking as a Brawn fan, I've actively wanted the Mercedes badge on the car all along. Just because I think it'd be cool.

Yup me too, I would love though to see a livery aswell.

i think to be honest I'm surprised Mercedes hasn't put there badge on it any who? it's business, i thought getting company capitalisation is key? losers or not, McLaren must raise the sales up somewhat? so brawn must play a key role. Slap the Badge on ASAP i say, but to be honest if they slap it on and next season Macca are the dominating team Mercedes might play a key role in to being glory supporters and then jump back to McLaren, they need a contract of if they put the badge on for 2009, then they have a end of year review to see if they want to continue in 2010.

I see Brawn GP doing well in F1 for a few years to be honest, this year is the year for both Championships though for sure. If you think about it McLaren at the end of this season will have had only one driver championship and no constructors in the last 10 years! Hard to believe really, Brawn GP will have achieved more on paper in terms of Championships than McLaren with their Mercedes engine.

Given that they should have their Mercedes Badge on that Brawn car asap in my opinion.

Perhaps Hexagram doesn't know about all the times Mercedes dropped the ball since 1995.

Stupid Post.

You of all people are going to call his post stupid? Was he attacking anyone in any way as you do on a daily basis? Was anything he said in any way inflammatory or even debatable? No it was not. Yet, you attack his post and call it stupid. You are the epitome of a poor loser. You can't stand to see your team not doing well, and when ANY race team in ANY series is doing poorly...their sponsors start looking around. That is the name of this game, and had you ever played in the arena rather than watching it from your couch...you would know that. Every racer to put a helmet on knows his sponsors are watching his performance and judging future support by the results of that and every race. It is the nature of the beast and the very reason that racing for sponsors is work, not fun. Mercedes has not said they are pulling their McLaren backing...only that they may put a badge on a car that is already running their engines. Why are you not all dramatic about Mercedes selling engines to Brawn in the first place? Isn't that giving support to another team? Of course it is, but you have found a reason to get all hurt and drama queen it up for this week...I wonder what your reason next week will be.

if you agree with stupidity and total lack of respect for history then so be you

Total lack of respect for history? Oh boy...that's a good one. It's not a business after all, it's a history lesson. It has nothing to do with results or bad press or poor management or making sponsors look bad...it's about history. Yup, that's a valid argument right there.

Bill you forget it was Ron Dennis and Martin Whitmarsh who put forward the suggestion to let Brawn use their engines so they would be able to race this year! I think McLaren will have the final say if they want another team using Mercedes branding!

and as McLaren fan has said hexagram forgets the numerous engine failures that cost the team McLaren Mercedes the title in 05 or even 03 let alone 2000! so maybe he would like to check his facts before he bases his entire mindset on 5 races and 4 wins compared to 15 years of history with 58 wins and 5 titles! :banghead:

Plus with this would cut allot of profit and if Brawn make a mockery of Mercedes then McLaren's main branding will suffer and also there new road car proposal. They have a rep and McLaren have kept that in mind al the way? Whether it is for sponsorship? Or just giving back the best results. With the WDC/WCC it has been a mere 5 races. Things could go horribly wrong in the next 10 races? RBR could win all 10 and then they might not have a cat in hells chance? Macca could do an amazing upgrade and sweep the floor again? Alonso could find 1 second of pace and win? Toyota? Glock could do something amazing. This is no set storyline; it’s not like Coronation Street? It’s unpredictable, and anyone to make such far-fetched remarks needs to be shot.

It's a fair point about if Brawn win it this year, McLaren have spent a lot of money over the last 10 years for relatively little on-paper success. Fair point about Mercedes too, they owe Kimi at least one WDC!

For me, McLaren are always going to be Mercedes' number one team because they have the best resources and I don't see Brawn in particular sustaining this level of dominance till the end of the season let alone for years to come.
