Actually a whole draft of new rule changes generally increase costs.
To combat this, teams have had to streamline other departments, make redundancies etc.
Na 2008 rules were quite bogus. The cars could barely follow each other, and overtaking generally only happened in the wet or if you were super brave.
These rules mean the cars can follow each other a bit better, at least its heading in the right direction.
Renault were caught out by the Diffuser gang, just like Ferrari... you don't see me calling for a return to 2005/6 rules...
No budget caps in 2009.
Yeah well the "Sweeping rule" changes are for what good reason then? Cost cutting for sure. Or preparing for cost cutting in 2010 then. If this wasn't needed then they would of stuck to the old better rules 2008 and previous years.
