because its not up for discussion with them, they come up with ideas and say 'thats the way its going to be, take t or leave'.
they are old farts and really don't have a firm grasp on modern motor sport.

Its in the dictator's handbook, right after the chapter on 'how to screw the fans just beacuase you can'

Sadly, this is very likely to happen, as Bernie will ultimately get his own way.

What a boring place F1 will now be. Every time that Lewis messes up at the start of a race, there will be no point in fighting through the field to try to get those few valuable points. No, if I was him, if I got it wrong early on I would simply park the car to save the engine for the next race.

What about making that equally important dive to get second rather than third? Well, no point in that either.

And as for Brazil, Bernie's system would have changed the most thrilling piece of sporting action there is into something totally boring; Massa is a specialist at this circuit and he was always going to run away with the race whatever Lewis did, so nothing to watch.

It is all very well to say it will encourage overtaking at the front, but surely if a driver is on the tail of the leader in the closing stages he will try to overtake; the issue is that most of the time there will be too big a gap between first and second. Of more problem surely are the stewards decisions which seem to penalise those who try to overtake. Under Bernie's system Lewis would have lost the championship by overtaking Kimi at Spa, whereas he would have won it had he sat behind him and waited for him to fall off the road.

And having Kubica in there until almost the end was great, which will never happen under the new system.

Then let's think of those championship showdowns that would never have happened (brackets show wins going into final race):-

2003 Michael Schumacher (6) v Kimi Raikkonen (1)
1997 Jacques Villeneuve (7) v Michael Schumacher (5)
1996 Damon Hill (7)v Jacques Villeneuve(4)
1994 Michael Schumacher (8) v Damon Hill (6)

I could go back further, but even going back to 1994 we would have lost some of the best and most talked about title deciders there have been. And others woudl have been more of a damp squib. How ridiculous.

Spot on. Welcome, too.

I have a better idea. If a conspiracy really exists and the FIA really favours Ferrari then they should do it at convenience. Convert 2008 to a medal system so that will see Lewis Hamilton stripped of his title and handed over to Massa who really is the one that should of won, and in 2009 use the medal system again. But if Hamilton wins because he has more points then I guess the FIA should then convert back to a points system that would allow a Ferrari driver to win the title and thus re-convert the championship again. Of course if a consiparcy really did exist this could very well happen. But I am sure it wont so at least all the McLaren sore losers that were sad about what happened to their cheating team in 2007 can finally now get over it....... :D:yes::thumbup:

Thats a little far-fetched, even for the FIA.

Well I was being extremely sarcastic. :hehe:

AKR... i know you joking and all, but you really do come across as a sore loser!
just be thankful you won the constructors, which ultimately is more important that the wdc.

I think even that would be abit far for the FIA to go don't you? i mean look at what happened over spa if they did that you would just get half the constructors splitting of from the sport.

Suppose you'd be able to watch Ferrari win everything tho because they would be the only ones left

I for one am perfectly happy we got the constructors as a Ferrari fan, but am not too keen on Massa so I think the results this year were proper, and if this Medals business goes ahead the championship will be tainted.
