stop opening up pubs etc. for people to get drunk.

Alternatively, learn to drink. I can think of better things to do my my vacation time than passing out of the street every night.

Spain was involved in the slave trade.

As an occasional buyer, which is way not nearly as bad than capturing and selling slaves for a living. Portugal I do not know about, there is certainly a large chunk of Brazilians that are of African descent.

You mean the trading of black slaves? That would be Spain and Portugal.

Learn some history. Slavery was not allowed in Spain or its colonies. Spain never captured or traded slaves. At most it bought some of them occasionally (from the English and other european slave traders).

Sorry, but I think you are the one who needs to study up on his history. Spain was involved in the slave trade. In fact, Portugal and Spain were the first countries to initiate the Atlantic slave trade! :banghead:

Chris it is a know fact that the British were the only nation to ever successfully extict another. In Australia they killed all of the Tasmanian Aborginals. All of them. The like got them all, put them on sone island where they all eventually died. The English settlers of Australia used to kill aborginals for fun. They used to put poison in their beers and when they would full down dying, the English would laugh at them. What kind of monsters were they? The Spanish and Portuguese settlers of Central and South America didn't do this to the indingenous people of there. Yes there were wars and all that sort of thing, but the Spanish and Portuguese tried to educate the indengenous. They set up Catholic missionaries and the like to help educate them and make them a part of society, rather than just kill them for fun. And wasn't it also in the mid to 20t century when the Australian govenment (Then mostly Anglo Saxon in origin) had that policy where they took all the kids from the aborginals and took them away. Yes a dark moment for the English ins it not.

So much for racing discussion......huh.

One person makes a web site.....people from all over the world post on it. This equals all of Spain being racists. How stupid.

This thread should be locked due to all the racist comments it is stirring up.

Back to a racing thread.

Indeed. As early as mid-16th century there was a university founded where the local indian chiefs could send their sons to.

I went to that website. pinchlaruetadehamilton.com Where is it racist? All it says is to "Punchure the tyres of Hamilton". Why is that racist. If you don't like it do one back that says, Punch Alonso in the head when he opens his big mouth or something. Here I will even write in Spanish for you so they can know it as well. "Dar un puñetazo a la cabeza de Alonso cuando él se abre su boca grande....." *LOL* .

I could not agree more. If that kind of website had opened against Alonso last year, I would not have made a big deal out of it, even knowing how superior the brits think they are compared to everyone else on the planet. If there were racist comments that was a disgrace, but there is nothing wrong with the web site itself.

And if we are at it, ¿where is a couple of guys with black makeup and a banner saying "Hamilton family" racist?. I thought they were making fun of the fact that with Hamilton you get a package complete with father and brother that seem to get excessive attention.

I can read, write, speak Spanish and there was nothing racist that I saw on the website. I take it that you are Spanish or Hispanic and have found the same thing as me. Although I agree that the website is childish, there is no racism in it thus, whocares. I bet if somone did something bad about Alonso instead, or about Massa etc no one would care. It is amazing how this thing here works in one direction only. Amazing!. And then there is another website called. http://www.lewishamiltonsucks.com That site is far worse than that pinchalaruetadehamilton.com site. Far worse. Yet no one cares? Why? Because that other was created by a bunch of Englishmen who can't stand Lewis Hamilton? It seems to me that as soon as the Spanish make an anti Hamilton website, everyone attacks them. Not fair at all. And to anyone who wrote that the website (Tha Spanish one) has racists comments, please show me. I haven't seen them. Most of you wouldn't know anyway. You can't read Spanish and are too lazy to learn another language so if you cant read then don't assume it has content that doesn't actually exist.

That might be pushing the boundaries a little, but this latest episode has nothing to do with that. It is about that website and as far as I am concerned all it is basically impying is that they hope Lewis Hamilton gets a puncture in a position on the track where he is likely to lose so much time and places that it will cost him the WDC. That is all it says. How can that be racist. So if I so a site just like it, but in Italian or in Slovenian, will all the Brits perceive Italians and Slovenes as racist as well? Apart from the fact that one person's opinion does not equal a whole nations, the topic of hoping that Lewis Hamilton gets a puncture is not rascit. Simple.

I can't agree with that post. Yes, many indigenous people were slain ruthlessly, but the British Empire sent out Protestant missionaries to the colonies and lands they were trying to annex as well. Likewise, the Portuguese and Spanish Explorations were not all sweetness and light either. But I don't see what relevance this has to what I said before. Jose Lopez was trying to claim Iberia was not involved in the slave trade, which is completely false.

This right here, ladies and gentlemen, is the obtuse/deliberately naive/downright ignorant (take your pick) kind of reasoning that means this public display of racist attitudes, whether they are borne out of hate or merely ignorance, will keep happening in Spain from time to time.

This is not to say that morons who think painting themselves up don't exist in the UK. They just wouldn't get away with it and thus keep their pathetic views to themselves in public largely.

And please stop getting so defensive. Yes Britain, as most other countries, including many of the benevolent flower growing countries on the continent have shameful episodes in their past. Nobody is denying that. It does nothing to help the recent unfortunate events at a select few at Sporting events in Spain. Then again, these are just words on a message board so neither does this I guess.

Can we all stop with sweeping generalisations coming from both sides about entire nations that do little more than antagonize?

The Inca are not extinct. Mexicans are mainly of Inca origin rather than European. Or should I say Mestizo which is a mixture of European and Indigenous blood. But they look more Inca than European in appearance etc than European.

Of course what Jose is false. All conquering nations had there downs. But I think Britain were the worst. (I have nothing against Brits but the comment I made is based on history I guess). You are Irish Chris and yet you defend the very country that even to this days has had hatred for the Irish. I don't need to go to detail as you know better than me the story with the IRA etc. And then the British always lie and make out that the IRA are the bad guys when infact it is usually the other way around. But that isn't anything new. In Australia in the 19th centrury Ned Kelly was pinned a bad guy but in reality he was a good guy. He was of Irish background and the law people (The police) always picked on his family and people. His problem was that he took matters into his own hands. Ah the British.................. At least on a more positive note, countries that were formed by the British have better governments than those by the Latin countries. Take Australia, New Zeland, The USA and Canada. All better to live in than countries like Brazil (Protuguese), Argentina (Spanish and Italian), Mexico (Spanish) etc etc etc.

Wasn't like this when I tried yesterday. Someone takes this too serious. All it said was to puncture Hamilton's tyre. I don't see where the racist parts were?

Anyway going back to that website. When you send an email via it to someone else, the receiver gets something like this.

Not one word there makes any reference to any racism whatsoever........................
I actually laughed at the last part where it says, "Or if not, we will bust/puncture your tyres instead".
