No, but the only thing close of the safety car crashing was in Nascar when Dale Earnhardt kept on bumping the bumper and the Safety car spun a bit, but Dale reason..''for the fun of it' '

That was Taki Inoue at Hungary 1995, it was a recovery truck that ran over him.

Some of Jim Bamber's sketches in Autosport magazine took the mick out of the Inoue incident. I'll have to dig out my "The Pits 3" book which is a collection of Jim Bamber's sketches from 1995.
