Questions and answers about going to a race weekend

Massa is setting the pace in practice at the moment. These are the final practice times:

1. Felipe Massa 1:20.188
2. Heikki Kovalainen 1:20.477
3. Robert Kubica 1:20.995
4. Kamui Kobayashi 1:21.335
5. Nico Rosberg 1:21.410
6. Mark Webber 1:21.565
7. Nelson Piquet: 1:21.797
8. Jenson Button 1:22.081
9. Vitantoio Liuzzi 1:23.853</pre>

Fine, but I don't see Kimi nor Lewis there... while Massa is doing fine, let's not forget that his victory is more related to Kimi's exhaust problem than Massa's own doing; if not for exhaust, it is unlikely that Massa would win, so I think Kimi is still the man to beat (when it comes to Ferrari).

Lewis... I'd like to see him doing good, because much as I dislike him, he is driving for McLaren so... McLaren needs his wins, and we all (well, most) want interesting season 'till the last race (who mentioned AKR? :hehe: ). I do fear he will be anxious to end his bad series with victory and extra pressure will not do him well, but hopefully he'll manage to keep things under control this time.

Well, I'm off to Silverstone testing tomorrow to join our courageous editor - he had to put up with trudging around the paddock and media centre yesterday, interviewing Kubica and Piquet amongst others - hard life!:D

Hi guys, this may not be racing related, but relevant to anyone at the track or in the vicinity of the test sessions at Silverstone.

Please be careful what tap water you drink in Northampton: People in parts of Northamptonshire have been told to boil tap water after cryptosparidium, a bug which can cause sickness and diarrhoea was found.

The track authorities are not saying anything, understandable, maybe they just don't know themselves, but all the same, take care.

It's accurate alright, in fact, it's been on the news all day. People who are attending the Grand Prix better be careful. Imagine 100,000 people with a dose of the shits scrambling to a thousand or so portaloos!

It would create a great opportunity for me to sneak in and watch the race.

From Planet F1:

Hamilton looking forward to Silverstone
Wednesday 25th June 2008

After realising one of his dreams at the Monaco Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton is hoping to make another childhood dream come true at next weekend's British Grand Prix.

Hamilton won his maiden Monaco GP at the end of last month and he is hoping to do the same at Silverstone next weekend.

Although the 23-year-old has gone off the boil since his win in Monte Carlo, he is confident the crowd at Silverstone will give him a boost.

"There really isn't more of a satisfying feeling - knowing that you're racing in your home country and knowing that you have the support of your country - it gives you a few extra tenths of a second, just with confidence, so I'm really thankful for the support I will hopefully be getting," he told the McLaren website.

Hamilton finished in third place at Silverstone last year after starting the race on pole position, and he hopes he can go all the way this year.

"Winning the British Grand Prix, I think would definitely be the highlight of my career," he said.

"Winning a home grand prix, in front of your home crowd, knowing that there's so many people watching... the sort of roar that I got from qualifying last year was incredible and making people happy, making the team happy, doing it in our own country would be an immense feeling."
