I don't particularly want to discuss Senna V Prost and everything concerned with that. I think we're at opposite ends of opinion over 1989. Best to leave it that way.

I don't see any debate on the issue. Prost admitted he turned into Senna, and Balestre admitted in 1994 that he screwed Senna to benefit his compatriot.

Well whether Prosts actions were justified or not.

I see what you mean now. :D

Yeah, I mean Balestre was a loser (scared to use harsher words on this forum) god rest his soul.
Hardly set an example for F1 today. It hasn't moved on.

Now this is someone I admire as a driver and a person. I wonder if he will be reprimanded for not spinning the usual McLaren :vomit:

Heikki plays down conspiracy theories
http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3735054,00.html
Heikki Kovalainen has dismissed suggestions that McLaren are being victimised by the FIA.
Kovalainen and his team-mate Lewis Hamilton have struggled to get going in the past few races after being hit with a spate of penalties.
Both the McLaren drivers received grid penalties at the French Grand Prix while Hamilton was also punished with a drive-through penalty.
The Finn, though, believes they are receiving penalties for the right reasons.
"I don't think it's too many penalties," he told Autosport. "We get a penalty whenever we do something wrong.
"And I don't think we should read into it too much. We need to make sure we don't make mistakes and then we won't receive any penalties. I don't think there are more penalties for McLaren than for others.
"I think we have made some mistakes, I have made some mistakes and we need to make sure we won't do them again, and then it will be fine."

A year later, in 1999, McLaren were robbed off the constructors' title, as Ferrari were allowed to keep the points they scored in the Malaysian Grand Prix, even though the cars had oversized parts.

Ah, the old myth again!
The measuring equipment the stewards used in Malaysia was sub-standard and the measurements were faulty. Subsequent measurements clearly showed that the parts were within the FIA regs and tolerances.

That's only half the story, I'm afraid. On the Sunday evening on which the two Ferraris were disqualified, Ross Brawn came out to the world's media and said that the part was manufactured incorrectly and was in breach of the regulations (being 10mm too large when the tolerance was 5mm). A day or two after, Jean Todt offered to resign, but di Montezemolo told him to carry on running the team until the end of the season. Back in Italy, however, Ferrari brought out their big guns and came up with an interesting interpretation of the rules, to say the least, so the part was, therefore, only 5mm too large, i.e. just on the maximum allowable tolerance margin. That the measuring equipment was inadequate only helped to persuade the FIA. That and other personal and political pressures. It's true that Ferrari would have got an insignificant performance advantage, but the fact is rules were breached and you must be punished. In the spy scandal, for example, the FIA even agreed that McLaren gained very little from Stepney's dealings with Coughlan, but a harsh punishment was handed out. There's just no consistency at all with the FIA.
Now this is someone I admire as a driver and a person. I wonder if he will be reprimanded for not spinning the usual McLaren :vomit:

Well, given that McLaren quickly and unreservedly shot down claims that the FIA were victimising the team, I take it that means that you are saying that those comments were vomit and that the FIA are really picking on the team.

Yeh I am scared to go on an intellectual level with the mighty BUD.

The McLaren PR machine. Publicly come out and say things then in the background a few key people in the organization (eg Hammy , Norbert) come out and say a few things to plant the seed of doubt.
See how it's done Bud. Mclaren are the masters at it. Remember the MYTH thing.

It reminds me of the letter they wrote to the FAI about the Spy crap.
Yeh I believed that one too.

People are entitled to dislike individuals and not the entire team.
Such as in football. I generally find Ronaldo annoying, Don't have anything against Portugal though.

This is why I don't carry on any type of discussion with you any more.
It is a futile exercise.
