I don't agree about Webber being slower than Massa, how many times have we seen Webber have a bad start or bad luck, fighting his way into a good points paying position? Massa, still not at his best, seems to get mired in the midfield, failing to make any real progress while his team mate, Alonso is fighting for the lead. But differences in opinion is what makes this forum go around :)

Do you not mean.... "But differences in opinion is what makes this forum go to s*** sometimes :)"

A healthy difference of opinion is good, there would be no discussion if everyone agreed. The s*** come when it becomes repetitive, incessant and obstinate droning without any other intent but to wind people up, is what gets old.

I totally agree.

(do you see what I did there.... ? )

I disagree (did you see what I did there....

Cant we all agree to get along?

This silly season thread is certainly ripe with "silly".

Webber might talk harder, but well, I'd rather have Massa off the line than Webber :whip::whip:

No, seriously, Webber hasn't driven a "race from the back" in a while? He's been well, hardly anywhere, and yep, he's had a fair faster car than Massa too.

Webber's made plenty of bad racing decisions, and shown poor performance, crashes with other drivers etc.

Does it matter, what the drivers excuses are for not being fast enough versus, well a driver who is not fast enough?

What does Webber say in comparison? "Yeah, I'm behind on the grid, cos I'm s***?", none of them say that, I think he just stays away from the topic.

Nah he just keeps going on about the F1 results being a "lottery" and the "game of chess". Such a broken record.

Who's faster is always going to be subjective because we as fans have bias' and also the two drivers have never had equal equipment at the same time. I believe both underperform in general; being rooted as #2 in both camps is demoralizing and will have an effect on how each Massa & Webber drive, a nurtured #1driver like Alonso and Vettel will always perform better as they know their respective teams have put all their eggs in that drivers basket!

The first puzzle piece falls in (and stays in) place:

ESPNF1:

Sebastian Vettel has extended his Red Bull contract until the end of 2015, putting an end to speculation he might join Ferrari next season.

Last year rumours surfaced that he had signed a pre-contract with rivals Ferrari but both Red Bull and Vettel denied the stories. The three-time world champions have now put an end to the speculation, at least in the immediate future, by confirming Vettel will stay until the end of 2015.

"Infiniti Red Bull Racing is happy to confirm that World Champion Sebastian Vettel has extended his multi-year contract with the team until the end of 2015," read a statement. "A previous member of the Red Bull Junior squad, Sebastian first drove for Red Bull Racing in 2009. During his Formula One career, the 25-year-old has achieved 29 wins, 51 podiums and 39 pole positions. He is the current Formula One World Champion and also a triple World Champion, having retained the title since he first won it in 2010."

Vettel's team-mate for 2014 has yet to be confirmed with rumours Mark Webber will leave the team when his current one-year contract expires. Following the Malaysian Grand Prix, where Vettel ignored team orders to overtake Webber and win the race, there has been speculation that Webber's position beyond the end of the season is untenable.

Kimi Raikkonen is among the drivers rumoured to be in with a chance at securing a Red Bull drive next year, while Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne are also eyeing the seat.

At the rate SV is going, he could very well end up with 6 titles in a row by 2015 :yikes:

The championship for 2014 will be a lot more dependent on engines than aero.

Not sure you can call it an engine any more.

There's an engine under there! And it produces just as much, and if allowed to, a lot more power than the existing engines.

I am not. I am sure in the 2013 regulations the engine is not called an engine.
