Yes, I agree, it is different nowdays, control has creeped up, against passion. You still need both though.
Grosjean would probably do pretty well if you gave him a car capable of going for pole position, mind you, I don't think he out races Kimi, just outqualifies him.

Schumacher has a fair amount of heart, although yeah, he didn't generally drive like that.
I guess its more a matter of what kind of driver is successful now vs before. Teams will look for the drivers they need to win; and drivers will adjust to what the teams need. Its modern F1, the era with electric engines. Enzo is probably glad he's not here to see that.
Also, Grosjean could be very successful in an era with 6 cars on the grid.......
