Anyway, back on topic, back to the Australian GP, Mark Webber to run Vettel off the road and go onto win the race... [/i]

Whatever you're smokin' I want some of it!

There'll be a huge pile-up at Turn 1, which eliminates everyone but Seb (far ahead by the first corner) and the two HRTs. The HRTs, led by de la Rosa close down Seb until they go three-abreast down the back straight. They make the pass, and go on to lap Seb 6 times. De la Rosa finally claims his maiden F1 victory, which surpasses his second place in the 2006 Hungarian GP.

The field get away well but Narain Karthikeyan stalls on the grid and is left behind.

The cars pile into turn 1 and it's all very close, but a marshal loses control of his tractor and hits a gigantic, 20ft tall keg of Fosters beer, which spills huge amounts of beer onto the race track, causing every single car to spin out and either hit the barriers or get into a pile up.

Narain Karthikeyan cuts through the traffic at a snail's pace so he doesn't spin out on the slippery beer and goes on to win the race! :)

It's true. I just time travelled from the future to type this.

Basically, it seems the conclusion being drawn here, from all these calculations, is that HRT are going to wipe the floor with everyone. Man I cannot wait to see this historical moment! :pinkelephant:

I'm just thinking what sort of weather Melbourne is going to get that weekend, There has been a lot of rainfall and flooding in the eastern states of Australia in the last few days which has been well highlighted in the news here in Aus.

According to The Weather Channel, Thursday and Friday will both be hampered with "Scattered Showers" with Saturday being "Cloudy". No news on Sunday yet though. Temperature-wise, Thursday is predicted to be 23C, Friday 22C and Saturday 21C.

Another site agrees that Thursday and Friday will have rain but disagrees with Saturday, saying it'll be "Sunny Skies". They also predict the same "Sunny Skies" for Sunday. This source predicts different temperatures: Thursday 19C, Friday 17C, Saturday 17C and Sunday 20C.

So it looks like Practices 1 & 2 will be wet but Qualifying and the Race will stay dry; maybe with some cloud.

They have trouble getting the weather right one or two days ahead, let alone 8 or 9 :D Think I might look nearer the time.

Not sure if this has been discussed but:

Ferrari car fix means new crash test

Ferrari is already working on a major chassis modification that could require the F2012 to undergo a new FIA crash test according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. The report follows Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo’s alarm at the team’s current situation, with Fernando Alonso expecting Ferrari will have to “suffer” early this season based on recent track testing results.

“I would like to understand why and above all understand how we can very quickly make the necessary changes,” said Montezemolo at the Geneva Motor Show.

Gazzetta said the modification is to the 2012 car’s sidepod area.

Meanwhile, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner told BBC radio on Wednesday that the team will take its updated car to Melbourne, despite its reliability and apparent handling problems at the final Barcelona test.

Don't mean to be harping on about Ferrari but it seems they have taken the winter testing f*ck up trophy of 2012. McLaren took 2011's. Hopefully Redbull will be next in 2013. :P

I'm hoping the race day will be nice and sunny. Melbourne is just one of those venues, like Monza, where you just imagine it to be swathed in sunlight. :)

:banghead: I had a major migration for a customer scheduled for this Saturday, we've been planning it for months, and we were all set. Well the customer informed me yesterday that they need to push it back a week into next Saturday. How can I find a balance between work and F1?

I'll just orchestrate everything with a lack of sleep, it's not like orchestrating everything while drunk. :hehe:

I wouldn't mind a wet race to be honest...hopefully one of the Redbulls crashes rear-on with the exhausts breaking into several individual pieces which McLaren can learn from and apply for the future.
