Urgh, i hate suggestions like that. What about all the times the drivers fail the team and make mistakes, it's not all one way, in fact the drivers probably make more errors

Yes, it's not all one way and the drivers do make mistake and let the team down. Vice-versa, works both ways, whatever you want to call it.

My post was about the team's failings, I'm sure somebody will make a post about the drivers' failings (Hamilton) to even things out.

Everyone seems to attack McLaren for making mistakes / not getting things right. For f!uck sake, they don't make any more balls-ups than the rest of the teams out there! And the drivers made their fair share of errors last season too. The incident in qualifying for the Japanese GP was the fault of LEWIS alone, and Hamilton was willing to admit that.

Additionally, they had to take strategic risks to attempt to catch Red Bull. They were safe from losing second place, so there was no reason not to give it a shot. And even if all those mistakes were erased, they still wouldn't have caught up to Red Bull anyway. Time to move on.

People make mistakes, it comes as part of the package. It's easy to criticize in hindsight when one is sitting in an unstressed environment tapping away at a computer keyboard, but on location at a GP the adrenaline is pumping with a vengeance and as a result, mistakes can and do happen. I would also point out that computers and software are only as good as the people who design them, so very occasionally these systems c*ck up, but it can work both ways. Sometimes the correct data is ignored and the plan falls to pieces. C'est la vie...

OK guys, so here we are in Sepang, and season is set up beautifully for a good rivalry between these two immensely talented drivers! :D

Lewis Hamilton has been stunning in both practice sessions so far in Malaysia, and I fully expect him to take pole for McLaren. Will the guys from Woking lock out the front of the grid again? And if so, will Lewis be more aggressive with Jenson this time? And who will come out on top in the race!

SO MUCH to look forward to!!:drink:

Interesting thing is, with malaysia, if you're on the outside of turn 1 you can likely find yourself on the inside of turn 2... That's what good 'ol webber did to massa last year :twisted::twisted:

So I'm not foreseeing a repeat of melbourne's turn 1 if it's a mclaren front row. Can't read too much into practice times though. Last year webber set fastest lap during several practice sessions but was never quite "there or thereabouts" in qualifying, as they say. :(

If Jenson puts one over on Lewis at the start this time round, then that first sequence of corners could get very messy. We've seen carnage happen there in the past!

I have a feeling this GP will particularly depend on who comes to grips with the tires the best, so I give the edge to Jenson for the win.

Agreed. Tire wear here I think will be more of a factor than it usually is

Absolutely, when you take into account the searing heat and the fast, sweeping corners.

I think tire wear will be an issue for everyone not just Lewis and Jenson. The fact that they spent so much time on the primes in these P sessions may be a clue to what the tire strategy for the weekend may be. All moot if it rains of course.

If it is an all-McLaren front row, which is a high possibility, then I'm going to be pretty nervous! JB will be gunning for more glory, but LH will not be wanting to be embarrassed again. At some point this season, one of these chrome front rows may not make it past Turn 1 :yikes:

Having said that, Lewis and Jenson have proven very sensible in combat during their time together at McLaren. The only exception is, of course, last year's race at Montreal.
