Any news on Tex?

Alive and kicking :) . Sunday night I turned to the local news station for a weather update as we just got a crazy coldfront and all that was on the telly was the news of OBL's demise  . As bud pointed out the fight is still on and could possibly heat up and it is far from over but only time will tell. Talking to my new neighbors father today he said something very interesting in that Obama has pretty much sealed his re-election. Anywho even though the tyrant is gone (supposedly) the war against al-Qaeda still rages on world wide  .

^^ Sad commentary huh that this event could somehow change someone's mind about voting for the president or not. After all W won in 2004 while not having delivered OBL.

What I am really looking forward to is the cache of information taken from the compound's computers and USB memory sticks etc, as that information may lead to a rash of terrorists arrest world wide. Being the optimist I am, I'd rather think about that than think about the increased potential for a retaliatory attack by a terrorist cell somewhere.

I'm kinda sick of the whole story now; it's been three days now and if anything the story is getting bigger; he's still hitting the headlines and causing a storm even after death!

The 24 hour news cycle has a short attention span, it's a race weekend so you have that personal distraction to look forward to yes?

The one thing that is good about this news story; it's knocked the royal wedding off the headlines! Ah a weekend of F1 goodness without a moderator jacket on, BLISS! :cloud9:

is it that good to get out of the straight jacket DD had you in??
:hehe:

My opinions on the whole Osama matter are:

1. Ok, so he's really dead; now who's going to play the World's next arch-enemy??

2. Ok, so they've served "justice" to the families of the 911 deads. Fair enough... now, who's going to serve the same justice to the families of the War on terror's deads?? (there's families, lots of, on both sides!)

3. Is the world a safer place today than it was 1 week ago??

So yeah... i'm sick of the whole story as well. After 10 yrs of Bulls**t, I'm glad its finally over.
