HOO-RAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's VINTAGE Lewis VS Fernando...THOROUGHLY enjoyable!! My heart was thumping like mad as Alonso came out of the pits the 2nd time!!

Mine too. I had to go out the room for the pitstops and come back when I knew it was all ok.

Seriously? I'd go mad if I can't see what's going on! I don't think I was actually sitting on the couch at that point. :P

My inner mathematician said it be ok  even after a few wines

I wasn't relying on my inner mathematician as I was stupid enough to rely on the stupid commentator on Star Sports (BBC streaming was crap today) and he sez Alonso just needs 21 seconds to make it in front of Lewis. And the gap was 20.

So when Lewis came out in front by 4.4 I was like "HUH....." Steve Doofus strikes again. :irked:

I dont think its the mum effect, he had a smooth qualifying with a smooth race and efficient pitstops again after a long time. Something Vettel has had at almost EVERY race this season.

Whitmarsh is off again.

He knows Jenson has finished ahead of Lewis this year, so why is he saying all this? He says he knows both drivers very well. Not that well apparantly Martin:-

Hamilton on Whitmarsh:-

"For the life of me I don't know why he would say that because that's not the case," he said.

"Of course we both want to win, but it doesn't matter whether he or I get it, we still end up on a high. That's my view anyway."

Button's P3 at Abu Dhabi means he will finish the season ahead of his McLaren team-mate in the Drivers' Championship, but Hamilton brushed it off.

"For me it's irrelevant whether he has finished ahead of me because we want to win the Championship," he said.

"Some days when you play golf you have an off day and you lose, well this has been an off year."

If you read the whole thing Whitmarsh doesn't say anything he shouldn't say. He's saying that both Button and Hamilton have had 3 wins each and both will be going for the 4th as they will both want to finish ahead of the other on number of wins seeing as Button can't be beaten on points by Hamilton. He's also seems to be saying that Hamilton has finally got his act together.

Whitmarsh isn't putting the guy down and he isn't belittling the win or anything like that. Really struggling to see the opportunity for knickers getting twisted with this one.

Really, are we still talking about Martin Whitmarsh, what he says has nothing to do with Lewis' poor performances this season, Lewis has admitted that his head was not in the right place to go racing, too many distractions in his personal life. Martin Whitmarsh has simply told it like he saw it, simple as that, no doubt if Ron Dennis was interviewed he would have been singing Lewis' praises all season long. So what if Martin Whitmarsh favours Jenson personally, both drivers have been given equal opportunity, I think that this season will make Lewis stronger, being beaten by his team mate for the first time will bring him down to Earth with a bump and make him a stronger driver, I look forward to seeing JB and LH going head to head next season!
