This is definitely a rumour only doing the rounds, I have only fond posts but zero media/press to back it up, BUT, some are saying that Felipe will be replaced for 2013 by Schumi who will make way for Vettel in 2014.

Well Hughes said sometime ago that an impeccable source from Ferrari, never been wrong before, said Vettel definately has a (option? or pre contract agreement? something like that) for Ferrari 2014.
Now if Mercedes pull out because they dont like the new regs it will leave Ferrari in a very strong position because they do their own engine. I thought he said they'd be the only one doing their own engine, but there's Renault, Im not sure what he said about Renault.
I wouldnt be at all suprised to see Vettel at Ferrari 2014.

:yes::hehe:

Judging by the way Schumacher was practically shown the door to make way for the much anticipated arrival of Kimi Raikkonen, the likelihood of this occurring is very low.

I would also be VERY surprised to see Vettel at the Scuderia. Fernando Alonso would simply not allow it. It's just not even worth thinking about.

Personally I do see Seb at Ferrari. I also disagree with you Lew in relation to Fernando's reaction. I think, Alonso, like most top line drivers, doesn't doubt his own abilities to win - against any driver. I think he would feel having a very strong driver at Ferrari with him will increase his chances of winning a championship by taking points away from rivals.

I'd love to see that. It would answer many questions about greatness and ability. How do you say gherkin in Italiano? Pepino? Pepinillo?

Guess he really is fed up of Mclaren (Dont blame him)

So do you guys think this will lead to future success? a few races ago they were looking strong, now not so much, but there must be a big commitment to go far in f1 with them paying hamiltons salary (maybe)

so would it be a good move :pray: or start a series of seasons in uncompetitive cars with a more and more desperate lewis inside them :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

Personally I think it would be a good move. Ross Brawn is a shrewd character and I think Lewis should make sure Brawn's longetivity in F1 should mirror the length of his contract as well.

The politics and bullsh*t at McLaren is getting too much. Whitmarsh seems more interested in providing a 'fair' environment in McLaren than winning championships. Lewis needs to build a team around him like Alonso has done with Ferrari. Mercedes seems to be a good place to do it, providing he's got a reliable team leader and Brawn is as good as they come IMO. There is a risk in this move, as Merc as a manufacturer might think of quitting in the future but I think a fresh environment where he can showcase his skills is more lucrative at this moment than being in a solid team sharing all his info with Mr Politician as a teammate and Mother Teresa reborn as Team leader.

That sure would be a curveball. I guess the next question is who would get that McLaren seat? I would love to see Hulkenberg in a top car...
