I don't think it is corrupted, I think people do what they have to do. When there is millions of pounds on the table. The moral compass gets warped.

So are Red Bull still cheating or have they found two seconds in a month because they're that good?

Clearly the car is very good. The speed was always there, they just couldn't get enough running in to get setup etc right.
Red Bull have shown us over the recent past how good they are at developing and improving their car through the year.

But do you think the fact they're pushing the fuel flow issue, and risking the same DQ this race, means they're either clutching at straws or gaining what Horner thinks is a .75 second gain on a mere technicality. Their message doesn't seem all that clear cut on what it's offering them within and outside the rules.

The wet races has flattered the car's performance. In the dry they're not nearly as close.

I thought the opposite. They looked much stronger for the race in the dry. Their long runs in the dry were excellent and their tires were visibly in better shape.
They still look good in the wet, but their tire deg advantage goes away.

Vettel did really well today, except that he couldn't get past Rosberg.

Here's a conspiracy theory: Maybe that wasn't an accident?
Personally, I found it odd that Rosberg was so far behind Hamilton in performance,
something like 10 seconds down early on in the race. Either he was "supposed" to be
making it difficult for Vettel to race up at the front with Hamilton, or Rosberg was
driving a B-spec car that didn't have the same pace that Hamilton's did.

Boh... Just a thought...

: I think today's pace difference was entirely down to the driver. Do you think Mercedes need to play games like that when they can pull a nearly two second gap at will? It may be that Nico has the edge in another race, sets the car up better, saves his tyres and fuel better. But today it was Lewis who did those things. Fair and square.

Not at all!! I think Mercedes is the team to beat, thusfar!! It just seems very strange that Rosberg,
who was expected to do better at this track, was so far behind Hamilton so early on in the race.
And, because, as you said, Mercedes could pull out a "nearly two second gap at will" I found it strange that
Rosberg was barely able to hold off Vettel, in a car/engine that most fans had written off during testing.

So... either Red Bull has really improved, or Mercedes has gone as far as they can??

Hats off to Red Bull. They basically gave every team on the grid 3 full pre-season events head start and they have worked themselves into the #2 car position. They have proven adept at developing their car through the season so it will be interesting to see if they can harvest enough points before getting to Europe to stay in the title hunt.

Still holding to that line of thought Spanky?

That's the way the Tifosi think Sagi. It doesn't mean that's what's actually happening though.

Absolutely.

Do you still think it was the wet that flattered their performance on Saturday?
