Nice quotes Cooki...
I particularly like 'The Guardian'....

Yeah the Guardian summed it up best, especially the second paragraph which still has people in denial, forcing themselves to believe Alonso fled because of the 'team objectives not aligning with the stars and moon' and what not. :hehe:

It's the same people that to this day remind us that he was tied in points. So nothing the guy will ever do will suffice, when he did enough in his rookie year to outshine a double world champion.

Yeah , I agree with you both. I sometimes wonder why some folk ..laud certain drivers for the amount of winning they have done, but don't look at how they did it.

I am actually a little dissapointed with the Guardian for not going all the way with the truth

It has long been the case that those who recognise Hamilton as one of the most naturally-gifted drivers the sport has seen have been matched by those who, for whatever reason, always view him with a certain churlishness.

Matched? I remeber in 2007 it appeared to be 3 of us vs 30,000 on every single forum. And since then the smarter expertz have grown increasingly silent, while the next level down started fanatically supporting Button, then Seb, then Nico and even lover down the food chain we are left with the half who are the last ditch stand still clinging on to his abusive relationship with tyres and then ofcourse at the bottom feeder tranche, there are those still insisting his mental weakness will pop up at the last race of the season

Superb stuff from Buxton, an uplifting read amongst the nonsence from the hack reporters most of whom probably never even met Lewis.

And ofcourse the usual expertz on here will never read the article to the end but I bet we will hear from them shortly to tell us why the article is wrong somehow, lets wait for the first one

Superb article! For anyone wondering why I support Lewis Hamilton, that article will explain it better than I ever could. The two GP2 races he mentions are the ones I bang on about. They were mesmerising and I was luckupy enough to be at both of them live. I already supported Lewis at that time but anyone who didn't surely couldn't fail to after watching those two races.
So refreshing to hear a journalist who actually 'gets' Lewis rather than churn out the easy takes to sell papers. He's arrogant, he's thick etc etc. thanks for that Will the journo, a brilliant piece! Lewis' fans know all that, know how much time he gives to them and how he values them, maybe others can at least get a glimpse of the real Lewis if they bother to read that article,

That's a great article....I loved it. Especially due to the "greatest trick the Devil pulled..." part, since I have been thinking over the past few weeks about Lewis actually showing his intelligence on track despite everyone else around thinking he's a dumb blonde when it comes to race craft. It really seems that Lewis did pull a trick, maybe with the help of his fro and his earring, it looks like his focus is on being a superstar, but really the guy is getting the job done when it matters.

Of course the clowns will never get it, and Lewis will always remain a dumb blonde. But it works for him, especially if his teammate is one of them and believes in his own 'cerebral' hype and keeps burning tyres and using more fuel and wondering what the hell is going on.

Good thing is those like Brundle who tried hard to filter an impression to the general public based on restoring Button to the British phenom crown (that he already wasted in 2002) at Lewis' expense have fallen flatter on their fat lazy BBC cronynism infested, child molester protecting, public licence fee wasting, expense cheating, job for life, steak dinner eating, Michael Barrymore swimming pool partying, useless gang of sofa seated lovies

Wow cookie... you know how to take things just that much farther over the edge. Reel it in a bit, it's just a sport we watch for entertainment. :wavey:

Back a sec to Turkey 2006. I cheered every overtake he made as he recovered from his spin, many of them were right in front of where I was sitting at turn 12. It was amazing to watch. What I didnt know until today, was that he had gone against his engineers and taken off all the wing. And he was making those overtakes and keeping it on the corners with low downforce. New respect!! And this is the thick kid who can't understand the car..and pre F1 too! We still see Hamilton doing this now, spinning in practise and finding the limit for the race.
