Ran the Helensburgh 10k today, had a think about the running I do and realised that next year I'll be moving into one of the age-grouped Veteran categories - how did I start to get old? It sneaked up from nowhere I tell you!!

Newsflash: getting older sucks balls and nobody tells you that...

It sucks big time. But there are compensations. I went running today and got whistled at by a workman. This is not longer an irritation but a source of pleasure.

Well I guess I could have done . But that would have disrupted my run and looked like I was bothered. Best way to deal with whistles is to ignore....but smile on the inside Anyway, I'm far to shy to suggest that to a stranger!

Somehow sprayed anti bacterial cream into my eye making it sting and hurt like hell!

Standard practice in the UK to have it around especially in hospitals. The mother in law carry a bottle around with her and washes her hands with it about 5 times an hour
