I think the best you guys can do is just don't subscribe to it, than FOM will realize they made a mistake in that contract and are not making any more money.

I'm in the US and I love BBC's broadcast of the races, no interruptions and great presentations that makes it easy to understand all the politics of the sport.

I wish i could watch Sky F1 out here.

It doesn't work that way, Sky will have to stump up the cash regardless of whether anyone subscribes or watches the coverage.

hopefully theres no commercials during the actual track time.

There were plenty of adverts during the free practice sessions but Sky claim that there will be no adverts during the qualifying and race sessions, we shall see shortly!

I think it's only the race that is uninterrupted.

Quali will probably have ads as well, mostly in Q1 I guess.

I'm not 100 per cent certain but I know for sure that all build-ups will have adverts.

Finally got to sit down and look at the Red Button coverage via Sky this morning (been on holiday all week, and using Sky Go to watch the channel).

The amount of info / content is unbelievable. BBC tried to do this before, but whenever I looked, it wasnt that slick, and there never seemed to be as much as promised.

With Sky, you have the driver tracker, up to 4 onboard cameras, leaderboard, mixed view screen. But not only that, on any of these pages you have loads of info/bio's on the drivers / teams / tracks / history / technical discussions.

Brilliant.

(and you can get all that online too, via the 'race control')

Race control is working great for me, 4,500 miles away from Sky's servers :) switching between live timing and driver tracker on my laptop and watching the main Sky coverage on my big screen, HTPC setup, Sky has redeemed themselves a little after practice, in future I will simply skip practice, the adverts ruin the experience for me!

Mine started working just after that post.

Never really got to watch practice before anyway, due to being at work, so no biggy to me.

What a great quali that was....

Why was that show so short? We have an unlimited F1 channel. What about the interviews with the drivers and other team bosses? It felt like Sky F1 were rushed for time towards the end, but let me see... next on is a bunch of looped repeats of the stuff that's always on the channel. With a channel dedicated to Formula 1, I think that quali show was a little short.

Maybe FOM give them a limit of the length of the show, or maybe they have their own, personal limit.

i really dont like the ad-breaks during the build up and build "down"...really breaks the momentum of the show...

i am starting to wonder the reason sky's coverage starts 30mins before BBC's usual time is because of 30mins worth of ad's...

let's see what others have to say about ad's during build ups...when you are waiting for the next interview or next sequence to come up.. BAM..adverts..
oh and those ad breaks during practice...super annoying

i miss EJ, DC, Jake, MB and the BBC way of doing the show...

Well you could always chose to watch BBC highlights if you detest the Sky coverage so much. It's on at 1pm.
