Well done Lewis Hamilton!!!! :clap::clap::clap:

Coming back from more problems, great drive.

:yes:

Great to see him finally take the top step again, my goodness, I feel he desperately needed that result. More of the same hopefully, to keep the championship close!

What do you know, I thought Nico had pushed for fast lap at the end.

My wife mentioned something to me today that made sense when you look at it outside of "sport". The comments detractors make about Hamilton are the same type people make about celebrities to knock them down a peg or two. It made me think about it a bit deeper, and it's a pretty accurate way to look at it. He's transcended the sport and is now a celebrity, not just an F1 driver.

Leading every lap is an indication that you have a 2 sec car and a handicapped teammate. I thin its time for a new definition of the grand slam weekend - the old one is as knackered as a front engined ferrari F1 car.

So I am proud to christen the new standard in F1 - the Grand Kahuna - Pole, FL, WIN, b!tch slapping your teammate for good measure

That's along the lines of that article the judge posted a little while ago about aspects of Lewis Hamilton. Celebrity status and transcending the sport was one of the parts of that.

I can assure you that my wife did not read the Judge's article. :rofl: But an interesting take on the whole "syndrome" if you ask me.

Transcending the sport?? RC are you sure you want to excite a certain segment of the membership again, the last time we had pages and pages of twitter and facebook and tears and sorrow and thread locks just because of a similar innocuous comment - that Lewis was bigger than an F1 team

Oh well maybe its ok to discuss this now as its in the mainstream media :hehe:

It wasn't me! It was an article....looking at the whole Lewis affect. Celebrity, religion, and two others, can't remember. Surely you remember that article? In two parts?
WB , I know your wife wouldn't have read the judge :hehe: I just thought it was interesting that she came to one of the same conclusions...giving credence to the article.
