Schumacher paying for it himself!

That's dedication.

Point to prove? And he's not exactly poor.

There are still rumors about his fitness though. Some even speculate that he fractured a bone in his motorcycle accident. Weber stopped production of memorabilia to celebrate MS's return until he gets the ok from his doctors. So, by no means is it a done deal.

MMM Weber jumped the gun with memorabilia once before I seem to remember. He wouldnt want to be stuck with millions of useless Schumacher caps agen. :hehe:

Exactly. But at the same token it feeds into the rumor mill.

F1 live:
Michael Schumacher's manager has called a halt to production of memorabilia and merchandise celebrating the return of the seven time world champion to Formula One.

According to Auto Bild, Willi Weber fears a repeat of 1997, when he spent a million Euros on merchandise celebrating Schumacher's first title for Ferrari, when in fact he was pipped at the post by Jacques Villeneuve.

This time, the fear is that while Schumacher intends to fill the injured Felipe Massa's cockpit in Valencia and beyond, there are growing doubts regarding his race fitness. "As long as the return is not one hundred percent for certain, we are producing nothing," said Weber.

It is rumoured that Schumacher may even have fractured a bone when he injured his neck in a motorcycle testing crash in February.

"It was a very bad accident," his spokeswoman Sabine Kehm told Sunday's edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung, "but we are not going to talk about it in public."

It is a believed a decision about the 40-year-old's Valencia return will be made some time this week.

"Only when all the test results are available can we make a decision," said Dr Johannes Peil, of the Bad-Nauheim Sportklinic. "The last word will be Schumacher's.”

who else should pay for it? if it were Ferrari that could be seen as in season testing by some.

He'll make more than enough of it back driving these 2 races ;)

Meh, that was posted before Schumacher announced the 2 F2007 tests. Says enough.

Doesn't change the doubt - until he's cleared by the docs.

He'll be fine. If not its not the end of the world :P
